Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a full fledged genealogy junkie!! I have researched every line of my family and that of my husband over the past 20+ years. Some of my family names include but are not way limited to... ABBEY, BARRETT, DUNKIN, WELCH, STANLEY, REDMAN, SHARP, LEERIGHT, CHEAIRS, COOPER, BATTLE. My husbands lines includes but not limited to PRESCOTT, O'CONNOR, ALLEN, POOL, SANDEL, NAUL, ASKEW, JOHNSTON, WEAVER. I even have my ex-husbands family that I have researched.. see yold ya I was a genealogy junkie! lol

In addition to my own personal research,I also do transcription for the Ancestry.com World Archives Project, WorldMemoryProject.org and also do grave transcription for RecordAGrave.com and hold the record for the more graves transcribed in one day! (over 1200)

I have found many of my ancestors listed on FindAGrave and find it to be an invaluable tool!

I am the mother of 5 of the best children on the face of the earth... ok, I am a little partial! I am also the grandma to the most adorable grandson that has ever been born! ok, again... a little biased! LOL

While your here and if you have a few minutes, please visit my mother's memorial. My mother,Sheila, was an AMAZING woman and my best friend. I miss her more with each passing year. I love you mommy ;o)

Also...if you have the time, please visit my memorial FOR CHEYENNE. Cheyenne Rose was the sweet twin daughter of a very good friend of mine who died just 2 weeks after her 1st birthday due to a terrible freak accident in the home. Cheyenne's mommy has started a non profit org. to help bring to light these hidden dangers to help prevent other deaths such as Cheyenne's.

Thank you all for leaving flowers for my mother as well as for Cheyenne and those in my Domestic Violence Victims memorial. It makes me so happy to know that you care.

RE: Beard in Splendora
Thanks Michelle...family that moved to Texas haven't made it easy on me. My 2nd g grandfather Elijah and his wife Elizabeth both died in Harmony, just south of Nacogdoches. I believe I may have found the cemetery they were buried in on my last visit...Old Harmony...in the woods and abandoned many years ago...3 remaining stones and a stack of stones against a tree. No records to indicate they are there...just a gut feeling. Their son Ransom is also buried there (funeral home records). His brother John and wife Patsy both died in Splendora around 1900...can't locate them either. There are several unmarked graves near the grave of their son Archibald Shoemake in the Splendora Cemetery...could be. I live in Greenwood which is just south of Indy. Thanks again...Chuck

RE: Beard in Splendora
Thanks...same directions I came across. Not sure where you are located...you up for an adventure? I live in Indiana and was in Nacogdoches and Splendora over Easter weekend and not sure when I'm going to be able to return. Story goes William Albert Beard was in the lumber business and was killed in an accident in November 1893 near Cut and Shoot and was buried in the Boeykn Cemetery. His wife Sarah Ann "Sally" Shoemake Beard remarried 4 times, died in Midline, just north of Splendora, in January 1938 and was buried next to William Albert at Boeykn. Thanks again for your help. Chuck

Beard in Splendora
You recently attempted to photograph several Beards in the Splendora Cemetery but were unable to locate the headstones. Thank you very much for trying. I have found several references to a Boeykn Cemetery in Montgomery County but can't find it on Find A Grave or find any listings of who may be buried there. I found directions online and it sounds like it may be close to Conroe. Have you ever heard of this cemetery? I found a reference online that stated that the Sarah Beard you looked for in Splendora is buried in the Boeykn Cemetery next to her husband William Albert Beard. Sarah is a 1st cousin 3x removed. You can reach me either through this website or cshoemake61@gmail.com. Thanks again for your help! Chuck

John Abbey
Abbey name
I just started tracing my dad's side of the family(Abbey) I see that Clarence Abbey was a cousin. My dad was Donald Abbey Clarence's son. My name is John Henry Abbey. I'm from Marysville Ohio, and saw that Clarence's dad was William. I was just curious going down the line, where the Abbey side came from, I'm assuming that Abbey is an English/British name. Not very many Abbeys around.

David Smith
C.D. Prescott
Thanks for the info on C.D. If you wish, I can transfer management of his memorial to you. He is more closely related to your husband than to me, and it would allow you to make changes more easily.

Just go to the memorials and ask for the transfers as findagrave will then send the request with the links to the memorials.
