Catherine Nelson Knight
Hi there, I saw your memorial for Catherine Nelson Knight and wonder if you have any more info for her? My Nelson ancestry is also from Jasper Co., GA, in the early 1800's, so I suspect there's a connection. Also I found both William Nelson (my ancestor) and William Knight linked together in some indexes of the Superior Court at the GA State Archives online: "Nelson, William and William Knight vs Alexander Russell", etc. However I don't know what these legal cases were about.

RE: Sanford V. Knight
Further to my earlier reply, I will add the following info: I, together with a friend, actually read the Medlock - Knight - Puckett cemetery in 2009 with the information placed in one of the Laurens County Genealogical Society's cemetery books. As well as I remember the stone for Sanford V. Knight was a rather new stone which was probably added in recent years by the Sons of the Confederacy, based on information some one gave them. It is all in an honest effort to identify all possible Confederate soldiers with grave stones.
I am also a dowser, and just a few moments ago, I asked my dowsing rods about the correct location of Sanford V. Knight's grave. They say he is buried in the Knight - Crawford cemetery. Based on this information, you will have to make up your own mind as to where he is really buried.
Thanks for your interest.

The recording of this cemetery was done by Mrs. Laura Pulley, sometime between 1940 and 1960 (this document was not dated unfortunately). Her work has allowed us to have information about several cemeteries that doesn't exist today, because many stones have become unreadable since that time. Others have been completely destroyed. I believe her work was quite good, although any of us could make a mistake. I personally do not know where this cemetery is located. It may not exist. If you know more about the problem, I will attempt to help clarify it.

Thanks for your interest.

Charles Hawkins.

RE: Knights in Westmoreland, NH
Bill, have been messing around on ancestry looking up the Knights I entered in. Enabling me to make brief bios and more linking. If you think I'm making any mistakes please tell me. I am also armed with The History and Genealogy of Westmoreland which gives me a start to cross reference dob, m, dod and parentage.

Okay I have added them all in. Of course married daughters are not listed in the index under Knight so there might be a few more.... Also requested 2 edits. One for Lucy Ann wrong year of death. And Ida (Knight) Wilbur has a death of 1945 listed in the book. Use the edits to connect all the family together etc. And if you want to manage any of them just ask.... Have fun

Okay, there are about 12 - 15 more. I will try to add them tomorrow night. Lived all my life in New England. Well except when I was tiny (dad was a navy man). Love every changing season. my roots are Vermont and New Hampshire. Pam
