Hi, I stumbled across your pages, and we have these three names in common, as well as the Kentucky area, but then there are missing names which make me fall back on that old statement, We're all related in some way, but that doesn't mean that there'll be a direct link....Have you ever heard of Poynter/Payne/Miles/Freshwater/Hunt or Jones crossing with the three headline names? I'm working from literally nothing, and have my most success with military files, and so I can't really tell you much other than what I already have up on my own page...I just thought that I would ask, since your pages are so complete and well done. Thank You for your time, and have a good weekend - Best, RCP and Gannon Blue

RE: Thomas E. Martin
Thank you so very much. It seems as if the Thomas Martin I'm looking for just fell off the face of the earth. He is rumored to have been in the military tho. Thank you for your help.

Hi there! & I have a question...
I'm a Find A Grave member in Campbell County, Tennessee. I've been contacted by someone who is looking for his grandfather, but his information is sketchy at best. (You've been a member long enough to have this happen to you also, right? LOL) Anyway, his name is Freddie Stanfill, and he's looking for the burial site of his grandfather, Thomas Martin. Well, it didn't take me but a second to find Thomas E. Martin in Valley View Cemetery here in Campbell Co., and his sister, Sarah Martin Stanfill, whom you put on Find A Grave, and put up all those lovely photos of her.

My question is this: are you related to her? And would you be related to the FRANK Stanfill who wrote such a lovely poem to her?

The FREDDIE Stanfill I'm helping says he doesn't know who FRANK Stanfill is, so he's no help really. According to my Mr. Stanfill his grandfather, Thomas Martin, married his grandmother, Doxie Mays in Campbell County in 1911, had a girl child (his mother) and that's all he knows. They evidently divorced and went their separate ways. Except that here in Campbell County, that's hardly ever the end of the story. And it's just waaaaaay too coincidental that a Mr. Stanfill is looking for a Mr. Martin, and I find a Mr. Stanfill and his mother, who was a Martin.

I sure hope you can help (and again, how many times have we been told that same exact thing? LOL)

Here is Cameo's poem. If you like it, feel free to share):

Untitled Poem...........

twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house."
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"may this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"come now my children, let me show you around."
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."
