I am very interested in the early history of the industrial cities of Paterson and Newark, New Jersey.

My ancestors were silk manufacturers in Paterson, New Jersey, and in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Please feel free to use photographs or information if it is to benefit your family research. A credit to the "Friends of Cedar Lawn Cemetery" is a courteous and much appreciated gesture, but is not required if you plan to use any of the information and/or photographs.

It is my desire to transfer all memorials of those I entered in Cedar Lawn and Mount Pleasant Cemetery to their descendants and all those doing their family genealogy. I am glad to transfer memorials to any family members or descendants who request regardless of the general transfer guidelines.

Please accept my edit for Jessie Smylie May, because I added her parents. If you want you can transfer her to me and I will fix it. Thank you so much.

Ryle family
I was reviewing people like Peter Ryle and William Ryle on Find A Grave and realized you noted they were buried in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. For documentation purposes can you tell me where you verified that information. Wonder if there are any headstones we could have photographed for us. There is an individual who just posted some Thornicroft pics that were extremely helpful and validating. Thank you for your help. May I also ask who you are related from. My link is William Ryle - 1834-1881.

Hello, I was wondering how to find out if my great grandparents were buried here. I believe they were as they lived in Paterson, and my great-aunt is buried there. Their names are Nicholas and Hendricka van Peer. Nick was born 1863-ca 1939, and Hendricka was 1863-1928 I believe. Hendricka's maiden name was Van Den Bos.
I believe my other set of grandparents should be buried there as well they are John Grieder, Jr., 1873-ca 1954, and Anna Grieder, 1870-ca 1946. Anna's maiden name was Burghardt. I don't see any of their names listed on findagrave, and don't know how else to find them. I would greatly appreciate it if you could locate them there, or give me some advice how to go about locating them.
Thank you,
Claudia Grieder
