Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy since I was 15. Collected a lot of old bibles and pics when I was young from the older generations which worked out good, because they would have been thrown out when they died. I love FAG and have found many ancestors on here and met a lot of people on here. Willing to help anybody who has ancestors in Maryland.

George W. Bennett
I checked Loudon Parks records and they don't have a George W. Bennett in their cemetery. Do you know where you got that information from? I have checked his obits and they don't say Loudon.

thanks!

RE: William Brayshaw
Hi Kim,

I plan to visit Cedar Hill Cemetery tomorrow and continue grave photography. I will check for Julia's stone, but I don't remember any for her.
The interment Records have Wm in E - 9 - 9 top while Julia is in E - 9 - 1.

Are you related to the Brayshaws?

Mike

RE: Henrietta Welsh
I appreciate this information, there is a drawing I have of the sections in the cemetery. But it does not show any As section, do you have any knowledge of this?

P.S. I forgot to ask, did Aaron have 2 wives? I noticed that he already linked but thought I'd ask to make sure, lol. I meant to ask before accepting the edits. Kindly let me know.

Hello again. :) I see you sent you edit request to link Aaron to Mildred as a spouse. Is Aaron the father of A. Leslie and Howard Davis Lewis? Thought I'd ask, I can link him to the children if he is the father. :)

Whew, lol. Okay, I've added the images that I took last year to all the memorials and have also added a map of their whereabouts, too in some of the memorials (in Kathryn, Leslie G. and John D.'s memorials).

I examined my photos and found other markers that supported my findings. I generally take panoramic view images as well so that I know what other markers are nearby). Furthermore, I included GPS information as well in each memorial as well as I have corrected the plot information. Cheers! :)

Hello there and thank you for you inquiry.

I was there at Druid Ridge Cemetery in person last year and I must have missed adding photos of their markers after I created their memorials. I noted that another contributor has posted images to their memorials in case you were interested. I found the images I took last year and I see why I didn't post them, specifically to A. Leslie Lewis and Leslie G. Lewis. This is a double sided marker and I took images of the names on the big marker for these persons but didn't get a whole photo of the big marker. I found my images of their markers but my photos wouldn't enhance the memorial as they pretty much the same shots (however, mine were taken in the sunshine). Maybe I'll add them in case.

In regards to the large marker, they share this marker with Kathryn W. Lewis, John D. Lewis, Mildred L. Lewis, Fielding H. Lewis, Leslie G. Lewis and A. Leslie Lewis. Around this large shared marker there are small individual markers. I am going to add photos to those others memorials right after I send you this message.

I had every intention of going back again but unfortunately, I haven't been back in that area since last year. I also noted that I might have listed them in Annandale Section by accident when in fact they are actually in Maple Slope Section. I will review my images again and see and I will let you know. If you wish, I can post an image in one of the memorials indicating more or less where they are. I can see another familiar marker right behind this marker that is in the Annandale Section. There is a road (in the cemetery) that separates these 2 sections.

I hope this information helps in case you were still interested in visiting and photographing.

Cheers! :)

Hi Kim,
Aha, you found 'em! Great!
I have family in Althea so that's why I would have been in that section wandering around & taking a few photos.

RE: Swindell edits
Hi Kim : yes, by the way, the office has moved to another bldg. I found this out abt. a month ago myself. I'm retired and therefore free during the work week. I have found it best to go to a cemetery office during the work week in mid morning or early afternoon. Never at lunch time, nor too early or too late.
Most cemetery offices are not open on the weekends.
So, I never go to an office on a weekend.
I entered the death notice for Richard, Jr. You will find it in his memorial. I overlooked your message yesterday.
The nicest folks I've found are at New Cathedral Cemetery. They have a computer database right in the office as well as the old log books.
Aha, so I may have gotten the Section O info from you. Well, you'll find those folks eventually so it'll be corrected.
Oh, the reason for the shift in the office at Loudon is because it is also a funeral home. I think they just wanted to separate the two aspects of the cemetery.
I carry jugs of water, a brush & a big sponge in my trunk for cleaning markers. Absolutely NO detergent of any kind. Sometimes a mirror will help throw light just is the right way to help read inscriptions.
Find A Grave has a Facebook page. Some cleaning info pops up on there as well as some interesting stories.
OK, I'm starting to ramble,
Ciao for now,
John
