I stumbled across Find A Grave while digging around for family ancestry info. After visiting Find A Grave for a few years I decided to become more involved by posting pictures and providing additional information to existing memorials. Then, finally creating and managing a few memorials myself. I appreciate all the hard work that so many of you do by creating and maintaining memorials, not to mention running around cemeteries getting all those pictures and reading headstones!!!
I love digging around in my family tree. All the memorials that I maintain and many (but not all) of the flowers that I have left are for family, so if you ever want to chat, please feel free to send me a message!
A few surnames in my tree are:
Turpin > Baker, Borden, Dougherty
Grande > Dziekanowicz, Diesterheft, Colomy
Brown > Ragsdale, Walker, Cole
Parker > Garvin, Gilreath, Hulsey
Enjoy your virtual dig! Darcy

|k schmidt||RE: Isaac DTurpin|
In 1975, I was working my way through college and served as an orderly at Chowchilla Convalescent Hospital. I had the privilege to be a caregiver for Mr. Turpin. He was quite elderly at the time. Communication with him was difficult. He was a carpenter, from what I heard. Often, he would walk the halls checking the chairs and tables, tightening bolts with his fingers. He would often stroke wood furniture with his hands as though trying to sense it quality...a sure sign of a carpenter/cabinet maker. He was a gentle man with a kind smile and twinkle in his eyes. I looked forward to seeing him each day.
I wish I could tell you more about your family. As I recall, he had very few visitors. He was, however, a much loved and cared for patient at the facility.

You got lucky - we went to the cemetery on Sunday and I decided to check one more time when we got there to see if there were any new requests, and, well, there was yours! =) We had just enough time before we left to go grab your photo request before the sun went down behind the hills.
Six weeks ago, there was over 450 photo requests for this cemetery, but two of us have been doing a TON of these each weekend and a couple of others have also fulfilled some requests when they could. Determination - oh and a lot of exercise, this cemetery is HUGE and lots of hills. hehe

I already deleted the Memorial because I didn't have the correct dates and since I attached to wrong Death Certificate and used it for the burial information I deleted it cause now I don't know what I thought I knew. If you would like an invite to my Ancestry tree just send me your email. Christina Ray, Broken Bow Ok

I just went back and checked and It seems I made an error. I have Orville in the 1930 and 40 census so I know he couldn't have passed in 1928. I am going to delete the Memorial, However I do have his parents. William C Garvin b. March 1857 in Missouri City, Fort Bend Co., Texas and his mother is Dorcas Jane Yeargan b. 2 Oct 1862 and died 24 Nov 1953 her memorial # is 44636439. Her mother Sara Frances Bedwell is in my "main" line, Sara married Burton Yeargan. I'm glad you asked about this since I made such a bad error. Like I said before, I'll send you an invite, just need your email or username at Ancestry.
