I am helping my mother with her genealogy research by locating our ancestors' graves. Then, I got involved with several friends, helping them create their trees and memorials. You can see the names we are following in my virtual cemeteries. Along the way, I have found others' ancestors and created their pages. Now I have documented our ancestry to Col. Daniel Boone which was very interesting. And, finding the "Women of the American Revolution." Next trying to break down several "brick walls."

If I have entered any information that is incorrect, please contact me for a correction. I want to keep the information as accurate as possible.

I'm happy to transfer management to family members, just ask! Please use the "Edit" tab and "Suggest a Correction" when doing so and remember to give your member# along with your relationship or reason for the transfer.

I believe that memorials should belong to family members whenever possible, as family have a personal interest in honoring their relatives and are better able to complete, maintain and improve memorials with additional details and research. I am more than willing to have family members "adopt" them.

Please feel free to use any photos I have posted in your research work. © Photo courtesy of Find-a-grave member #47361005

re: Abigail Israel
I have added her record that I got from Christ Church records to her memorial #91434471. I also have a photo of the original Israel Family Bible showing her death date. This is in response to an email I was sent stating they could find a record of her burial there.

RE: Daniel Boone - - -
Thank you so much again! I'm not an 'active' paid up member of Ancestry - so it seems I do not get invitations. I've just looked there and could find nothing like an invitation. Tomorrow I'll hit it again when there isn't a football game and I can concentrate.
It's a funny situation; my daughter-in-law's sister is a co-member on my Ancestry site. I have let MY dues lapse (and have no intension to renew them). But she is busy on her tree all the time. Attempts to separate the two 'accounts' have failed, and I get allllll her stuff - and people think I am the owner. I sort of gave up on Ancestry, and can't trust it. Ten years of so ago it was a little more accurate; but now not so much. Mistakes have been made even by myself, it you can believe it! After I corrected 99% of it, some is still alive out there.
The sister I spoke of is the worst example. A nice lady, but she will repeat and copy ANY tidbit of info. Her philosophy is the more you repeat an error, validity mounts until it becomes fact. She isn't alone.
So - - mañana I'll dig into the genealogy bin (with your help) and see about the Boones and Grants.
The William Grants (father and son) were transported from Scotland after Culloden - at least one of them in the Gildart. They, or one, were captured at Carlyle and did little or no fighting. 1745. Thirty years later, the younger took up arms again against his King.
Thanks again; I'll be in touch. Charles Bryan

RE: Mathias Wisner
Thank you for your response! I would be most interested in viewing your family tree on Ancestry. I don't really do too much research on the Wisners as they're not my direct line, but they ARE my grandchildren's paternal line. The grandchildren are in their early 20s and are just kind of getting interested in their family genealogy. I'm hoping the genealogy "bug" will bit them soon, lol!

On another topic, I'm just curious as to how you feel about the "new" Ancestry.com? Personally, I do not like it and I WISH they would just allow us to continue using the "old" Ancestry.com However, it seems the people at Ancestr.com don't really care what their subscribers want. Such a shame.

RE: Daniel Boone - - -
You're very welcome. Two excellent biographies of Boone are by Robert Morgan and John Mack Faragher - - on Amazon for pennies. Daniel himself wrote one, but it was lost in a canoe accident and washed down the Ohio River. He didn't redo it. You should join the Boone Society - a really serious research outfit on the family. Happy Thanksgiving - - cb

RE: re: Carrie Smith burial memorial #155364251
Correct. For their Long Beach location, the Forest Lawn web site has only a very small fraction of the graves on-line. Their records are primarily on paper in multiple different files. You can call their central phone number (covers all Forest Lawn locations in the Los Angeles area) and ask for Long Beach records. They will transfer you and then you can ask of a grave look-up. Even then, they often can't find the record. Calling a second or third time (with perhaps a week in between) may be needed before they can find the correct record. The more data you can provide (date of burial, ground or mausoleum interment, full name) the higher the probability of success.

Once you have a location, section and plot maps are available at:

http://apps.forestlawn.com/maps/Home.html
