Sgt. Thomas Ellam's memorial
Thomas Ellam was my great-grandfather's father-in-law, and they are buried in the same cemetery Lot. The Fairview Cemetery record for Section D, Lot 77 and the photo of the large monument both show that Thomas died on December 24, 1894. The monument records that he was 57 years old when he died, so he was probably born in 1837. Kindly make the necessary changes to the birth and death dates in his memorial (#31776396).

Civil War Vets from NJ NY & PA
Happened upon your ambitious virtual cem of vets. I've compiled a virtual cem of Tri-state vets born, enlisted, and/or buried in the Upper Delaware River Valley - Sullivan & Orange Counties NY, Monroe, Wayne & Pike Counties PA, and Sussex & Warren Counties NJ. Some enlisted or reenlisted as far afield as Iowa.

Abt half of them are also included in this cem, Co B 151st PA, mustered in from Pike Co.

Thought you might be interested in adding to your compilation, if not just delete this note!

Thanks, ATJ

I need to wait until the heat-humidity subsides in Southern IL. to take your photo request. Will be glad to take it for you.

Henry Vreeland
Are you able to supply me with Henry's year of death? In order to find him in the cemetery's records, I need that information. Thanks!

Henry Vreeland
I searched the records of the Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ for Henry Vreeland, and had no luck. The Superintendent tells me there is one last place to look, but I need Henry's date of death. Even if you just have the year that would help.

Please get back to me. Thanks!

Hello, I sent an edit request a few days back regarding my ancestor, L.A. Bell. Did you receive this request (under the Edit tab)?

Hi! Regarding your photo request, can you please contact the cemetery and obtain the Section, Lot, and Grave Number information, and then post it to your request? Please also ask if there is a grave marker and add that information to your photo request and/or memorial. The Find A Grave FAQs state the photo requestor is responsible to provide this information.

Elmwood Cemetery: (708) 453-0273

This cemetery provides extremely limited assistance to photo volunteers with finding a grave's location. Last year I was able to fulfill almost 200 photo requests at Elmwood through this process. Because the lots in this cemetery are poorly marked, almost no one else ever photographs here. I have only had success here because I have spent literally weeks at a time to learn the intricacies of the layout of this cemetery.

Thank you for helping me to help you.
