I'm an avid family history researcher, and love tromping through old cemeteries, whether I know anyone in them or not. I've gotten my husband addicted to doing it, and now my children follow me around and "help" by pointing out letters of the alphabet that they recognize or interesting features on the stones!|
I'm searching for any and all members of the 91st Indiana Infantry, a Civil War regiment formed in Evansville, Indiana. (See my Virtual Cemetery!) If you have any information to add/contribute about any of the men, please let me know, and I'll be glad to add it.
I've also been gathering members of our local G.A.R. posts, former slaves, and whatever else catches my eye. Most, but probably not all, of these entries will be in the area of Vanderburgh County, Indiana. If you'd like to add to my list, I'd love to hear from you!

Edward is my GGGrandfather. Would you link him to his father, Henry Krick, #132193617.
My ggg grandfather, Joseph Ferguson, was in Company B, 91st Indiana. Per chance do you have a copy of the Holder diary? I'd like to obtain a copy as he was in the same company, in the same places experiencing the same things. He was wounded around Atlanta but the witness statements in his pension give conflicting dates.

|Judi McGarvey||Mary Frances Murphy|
I am interested in the information posted on the memorial page for Mary Frances Poore Murphy, #16585605, that Edna Poore was her stepsister. The page states that this info comes from the obit card for Mary Frances. Do you have a copy of this source? Frances Murphy was my 1st cousin once removed and I have never heard that she was a step child. Her parents -- Sylvanus Poore and Lavonia Proudfit married fairly young, on March 27 1906, and Edna was born on June 21, 1907. The 1910 census lists this marriage as the first marriage for both Van and Vonie. If you have any information about this, I would be very interested. Thank you. -- judi mcg
Brenda, thanks so much for what you are doing to get these monuments posted here. However, when I came upon this site looking for my great, great grandfather, Daniel J. McLaughlin, I noticed that the picture posted on his page is incorrect. The engraving on the monument looks like "Daniel F. McLaughlin born Apr 25, 1841." My Daniel's middle initial was J. and he was born Apr 28, 1939. He died on May 17, 1935 at age 96. I also noticed on one of the other pictures that the other marker says he was in the 31 Indiana Infantry, while my Daniel was in the 23rd Indiana Infantry, the famous "Flying Corps" commanded by Colonel Derringer. He was also with Sherman on his famous "March to the Sea." I'm going to go to the cemetery myself and try to find out what's

I cannot find a record for this burial in the ISH index card files. Would you please give me more background information to validate burial and locate grave.
