Bio and Links
I grew up in Llano, Texas. My maternal grandmother's family (Roberts) first came to Llano County in 1854. Some still live on the original land and throughout Llano. My great-great-great grandfather was one of Llano County's earliest pioneers.

My closest relatives are buried in Llano, Williamson and Trinity Counties.

The surnames in my line include Smith, Powell, Bynum, Owens, Branch, and Roberts.

Just saying hello!
Hi Blake,
Have lost track of you. Where have you gotten off too the past couple years? Bobbye said you were on FB? ... I looked but didn't find you.

RE: Latham and Roberts/Backues
Shirley Latham is my great aunt. Her husband is my grandmother's brother. Mattie Backhues is my great-great grandmother. I love genealogy! I have worked some on the Bickerdyke side (which is Mattie's daughter-in-law's maiden name). But am trying to learn more of the Latham side. Could we perhaps exchange email addresses?

Latham and Roberts/Backues
I noticed you maintain the sites for Mattie Roberts Backues and Frank Silas Latham. I am related to both of these individuals and was wondering if maybe we might not also be related.

RE: Fairview Cemetery
I'm sorry I didn't get a photo of that Latham tombstone for you. I did see it there but didn't realize it belonged with the Backues family. Poor excuse, but we were hurrying at the end of a long day in extremely windy conditions. If I get back up that way again, I'll make sure I get that photo.

RE: Photo Requests Help
No problem! That happens to everyone. Those requests came up yesterday and today and I figured something happened. I've already "claimed" them. I'll try to get them done this week.
The best way to find graves at SM Cem. is to get Victor to help. Otherwise you can look forever.
A couple of the online maps aren't really accurate so it makes searching hard.
However, Victor is only there during the week. If you work then too,it's hard to get by there.
Don't give up.

RE: Silas Latham
I checked all the markers carefully. Most are quite ancient and of weathered stone while then some are broken or toppled. Also, several are just small boulder stones and unlabeled. I'll be going to Llano late next week and can check the burial register at the library. Their canvas records may either explain or confirm for Silas. -L
