My name is Sharon McClelland and I live in Edmond, Oklahoma. I research Atkinson, Waller, Barton, Schilling, Steinbauer, McClelland, Hatch and Hood families. I am a Texas girl (Hook 'Em Horns!!) and my loving husband is a Yankee from Boston. |
I am always happy to share geneology information with my family lines listed above.
Am also willing to take pictures in Texas and Oklahoma when I am able. Just check with me!
We lost our Dad, Mack Dan Atkinson, Sr., on Friday, May 20, 2011. Please bear with me regarding transfers and answering questions. I will get caught up as soon as I can. Rest in Peace Daddy--I love you.
I have been out of circulation for a few months dealing with family issues. Thanks for your patience and kind words on the loss of our Dad. I am getting caught up as soon as I can.

Both her birth certificate and death certificate list Benjamin Sandlin and Annie Ockles as her parents.

I sent you a suggestion via the edit link with information showing Bettie's parents, Samuel J Johnson and Gillie Ellen Tomlinson. I would really like to see the link removed that connects her as the daughter of Jeremiah and Gillie Tomlinson. If you aren't connected to the family it is very easy to confuse the two Gillie's. If you have family in middle Tennessee, specifically Wilson and adjoining counties, you will find many instances where much care must be taken. They were very fond of using the same names, and birth date were very close, plus about 6 families intermarried to the point of mass confusion.
As the manager of her memorial, you are the only one able to correct the error. I hope you will consider my suggestion.
I would like permission to use the photos you have posted for the Hartman family at Gracelawn Cem. Look forward to hearing from you. thank you Laura W 48375521

Our Shamrock Genealogy Society is updating Find A Grave Memorials in Shamrock Cemetery and find this memorial to be a duplicate of one with numerous links as well as pictures. Would you please delete your picture so that we can request Find A Grave to delete this memorial? Your pic is better quality and if you desire it could be posted on the other memorial. Thank you so much.

I'm wondering if you may be related to Samuel Calvin Dodson whose find-a-grave memorial you added to Antelope Cemetery in Jack Co. TX.
I am doing a DAR application for someone who descends from Samuel C. Dodson through his first wife, Anna Scott. I cannot find Samuel's tombstone transcription in any of the websites for Antelope Cemetery (except yours on find-a-grave). I cannot find a death certificate for him in TX, or a listing on the Death Index for TX.
Do you know where Samuel died?
Is there a tombstone for him at Antelope Cemetery? I have requested a photo.
Would you be willing to share the source of the info for his memorial on find-a-grave, or what you may know of him if he was a family member of yours? Jill_R

First thanks so much for you dedication to Find A Grave.
I found my "roots" when I moved to Edmond. Even though I had a family genealogy book, I could not grasp all the "the cousins" with repeating names over and over with almost the same birth dates too! Then one day, I knock the book off the shelf while dusting and "it" lay open to a page where most were buried in Gracelawn Cemetery! I was shocked, as I lived on the next corner. It was an "aahhhah moment". Then shortly there after, I discovered one of the women who helped research my family book, lived down the street off 13th and Boulevard. Such a small world; and we are often traveling in our ancestral paths without being aware of the gifted path we walk.
I have since retired to the Pacific Northwest.
I want to say I vaguely recognize you from a church or writer group...?
I should like to mention, I do not believe anyone has recorded the indoor mausoleum crypts at All Souls' Episcopal Church, Oklahoma City, OK.
Once again, people do appreciate your service.
