Bio Photo US NAVY 1966-1968 Silent Service
Radio operator on (2) submarines & a supply ship.
Duty stations in order of service:
Main ID card VA & proud Navy Veteran !!
I specalize in babies (because they never got a chance) and veterans (because they gave us the chances that we have).
I'm hampered by 14K dial-up, so putting in fotos takes a while, be patient.
As a result of sub-service speed, I do most of my postings between 0400-0700 Texas time when internet usage is at a minimum.
Retired from GTE dba Verizon in Plano, Tx in 2007 after 27 years.
The dog in the foto is Precious, she is my constant traveling companion, mess with me and she goes into action, for real. !!!

duplicate memorial
James, thank you for your service to our country and for your service on Find A Grave specializing on babies and Veterans.

I am researching my family and my 3 Great Grandfather was William Blythe who settled in Fairfield, TX. I am also photographing the Fairfield Cemetery and found a duplicate for William Blythe. I didn't find it until I did a search of all interments in the cemetery. Harold Wombie added memorial 18191593 for William Blythe, however, the name was misspelled (Blyde) but has been corrected. Your memorial is 87751949 for W. Blythe and the name is misspelled as Bltyhe.

Since Harold's memorial was added first, would you mind deleting your memorial?

Sincerely, Peggy (Emmons) Redden

RE: Rakestraw @ Coolidge (Black) Cem
All my information came from Family Search. I have put additional information on the memorials from the Death Certificate. I also sent you a correction on Jim "Chief" Rakestraw. If I can be of any more help let me know.

My Brother was also in the silent service during the same time frame as you. He was in the Atlantic fleet on one of the last diesel boats.

One of my daughters worked for GTE/Verizon in the yellow page division for about 12 years until they sold to Idearc (sp). Small world huh?
