Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs and living in Douglasville, GA -- in the same county where my ancestors were pioneer settlers ca. 1830.

Since 2006 I have served as Chairman of the Douglas County Cemetery Preservation Commission. We have about 50-60 old, abandoned cemeteries in the county -- some of them very well concealed back in the woods. Each one is now cleaned at least once a year by the cemetery commission and a crew of county jail inmate trustees. I'm in the perfect job to be taking photographs of tombstones and providing information about them.

Thanks for the edit information. I was going by what I was told by his grandson and he was not sure. This Perry was my dad's brother. Thanks

RE: Phillips Cemetery

Any work that you are able to do there is much appreciated .... no descendents live nearby .. I am 80 miles away. Thanks again.

Phillips Family Cemetery
I just logged into the memorial that I created for my gg grandmother, Martha Jones Phillips, to add to the bio. Had not checked it in awhile. What a wonderful thing that the Douglas County Cemetery Preservation Commission has done. Thank you very much for cleaning the cemetery, finding Martha's foot-stone and for putting up the signage. It is my understanding that there may be more graves there but they are not marked.

RE: Isaac McLarty
that is so interesting. You should add that to his memorial.

I go to Hillcrest often and have looked for his marker every time I go.

So glad I finally found it.

Connie :)

Maxwells and McLartys
I have no idea why I have never seen these messages from you before today, but honestly I never have.

My great grandfather was Wm. A Maxwell. My g.g. Grandparents were Edwin Maxwell and Margaret McLarty.

Pat Deneen and I are related through the Morse family, as my g.grandmother, France's morse was a sister to her g. Grandmother. Lottie Vandergaw

Hello! I was wondering if I could please copy your photo of the Hildebrand siblings to a family tree I'm doing for a family friend. Their relative is Martha Hildebrand Leathers, wife of Peter Kennedy Leathers. It's a fabulous photo!

Thank you!
