Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired educator who just recently began searching for my families history. I am interested in finding out as much as possible so that I may get it recorded for my grandchildren. Hopefully, they will pass their heritage along to future generations. I have found a lot of info at ancestry on most of my family. However, there is a lot more to learn. Since I became a photo volunteer at FindAGrave, I have been visiting cemeteries and taking photos for others who live a distance away. This has also been done for me. I have photos of family that I could not have obtained without the help of other volunteers. I have teamed up with 2 other Find-a-gravers, Dottie Gilder and WD and the three of us work together to get as much information as we can for all the cemeteries in Tattnall Co. Genealogy is fascinating and there is so much history to be learned.

Luther H Middleton
Janice would you consider transferring to me my cousin Luther Middleton # 74275540 ?

I will admit he is a distant cousin, but I want to try and expand his bio a bit. Luther was the carpenter that managed the disassembling, moving, and reassembly of the old Sand Hills church back in the early 1920's. Once the job was complete, the church and cemetery were renamed in Luther's honor.

Today I manage the Middleton Memorial Cemetery, and of course Luther was a big part of its existence. I also (unofficially) manage all the Find A Grave listings at Middleton as well, and it strikes me as ironic that the man for whom the cemetery is named is buried elsewhere! Particularly since his parents and eight of his siblings are buried at MMC.

Anyway, your consideration is appreciated.

Thanks
Tony

RE: Rebecca Barbee
I didn't want to ask, especially not knowing if you were also related to her. A transfer would be most appreciated!

I finally came across the memorial for my 2g grandmother Rebecca today on findagrave & see that you are the one who maintains it. Are you by any chance a relative of some sorts? Always like to find new-to-me cousins! :)

Ann Whitener Sloan Cathcart #66739694
Hi Janice,

Not sure if you noticed but after reading Ann Cathcart's mother's obit, and doing some digging, I found that she had been buried with her parents in Virginia, while her husband's burial was at Elmwood in Columbia. I've the links, info, and her portrait moved over to the older memorial by Hope from 2005, as well as the marital name correction. Just thought you might like to know for your family tree records.

Regards,

Janice,

You can go ahead and please remove the cemetery burial information from the 'flower' you left on Ann Cathcart's memorial. I appreciate the much needed final location.
