First, let me state I do this for my love of cemeteries and history, and it's a positive way to give back to the community.

I DON'T do this just to increase my MEMORIALS as many do here!!

I volunteer my time and efforts to honor requests for anyone who asks.
You may send me an email and ask personally for me to photograph a graves site, or go through the Find A Grave method by posting a request from the memorial directly.

PLEASE don't post decedents pictures from the local newspapers on my memorials; if you do, I will notify Find A Grave administrators.

If you would like to have the available obituary for your relative or loved one in the Colorado Springs area, I may have an obituary archived; please ask!!

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

You may use my photographs for your own personal genealogy files under two simple conditions: ASK ME FIRST please, and then give me credit for the photograph. I have had people copy my pictures then post them on Ancestry.com and on genealogy websites....and that is NOT right to use my work without my permission, which is why it is now copyrighted material!!

Please note: I am inactive on Find a Grave from the end of September - March.

Lawson H Flora Co springs
Hi - I just happened upon your pictures of Lawson H. Flora - he is my grandfather - Grover Harrison GOSHORN's brother - there were three - and Lawson changed his name to Flora since it was the Flora's that cared for him. In any event, I see that you have a obit I was wondering IF I could be sent a cc of that that would be more clear. I would greatly appreciate it. Darleen email is: dlinschoten@satx.rr.com Thanks.

Hey,
Will you check out the photo I took of this memorial stone? The date says February 19th not the 17th?
Thanks, Tina

RE: Grave Photos Taken
Thanks, sorry to bug you.
I'm not trying to tread on someone's work, but I thought it would be nice to start adding photos of each memorial stone per block at Roselawn Cemetery. I thought it might be helpful for those wanting to search for family members and friends. I've noticed not all volunteers are so friendly. Some are so controlling they find it upsetting, as if I did something wrong, weird uh?

Grave Photos Taken
I took a photo of Mr. Frank Anselmo #90536236 and Mrs. Josephine S Anselmo #90535747 grave marker. Is it okay if I add it to their memorials?

RE: Olav Hanson / Memorial # 144725051
I do not believe the 1870 census is our Olaf. In 1900, Olaf and family are in Menominee, Wis., and he indicates he immigrated in 1880. I will check with a cousin of mine who has done extensive family research on this side of the family; he's been to Norway for research as well. Will get back to you once I hear from him.

Dalton-McKenzie
I will see what I can find on the Dalton line.

As for the McKenzie part. I "think" my husband's g-grandfather(Andrew Jackson Erwin) was first married to Eliza Ann McKenzie in Fannin Co., TX. We have tried to figure out who she was. This was ca. 1848-50 so there weren't too many people in Honey Grove. We don't know where they were in 1850, but were in Marlin, TX on the 1860 census living next door to one of Lacy McKenzie's sons--Henry, as I remember.

Shortly afterward, Eliza died. She had one daughter born after the 1860 census who turned up on a Fannin Co. census later (1880, I think) living with her older brother. He happened to be named Samuel Lacy Erwin. The Samuel was for his Erwin grandfather. I have always wondered if the Lacy was for someone in the McKenzie family since his mother was a McKenzie.

No one in the McKenzie family seems to know who this Eliza McKenzie was. But there are so many "connections" that I keep looking.

Dianne

Olav Hanson / Memorial # 144725051
On his memorial page is the following information:

"Olaf Hansen came to the United States with his parents, H.M. Hansen and Gunhilde Hansen. They made their first home in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois."

I am really interested to know of his parents were living with him in Chicago? Were they in a census you found? Thank you, Aleta

Sarah Dalton McKenzie
Sarah was the sister of my Rachel Dalton Dyer, wife of George Dyer of Henry Co., VA. Their father was David Dalton and Hannah?.

I have a copy of a deposition by Rachel Dalton Dyer relating to her sister Sarah. It names her husband as Alexander. If I can locate it in my notebooks, I can send you a copy. My scanner is not hooked up correctly or I could email it to you. I will look in my Dalton-Dyer files and see if I have saved it.

I also think my husband is related to a son of Sarah's, Lacy McKenzie. Do you know about him?

Edward Manley

Hi,

If you call the church to see if Edward is buried there and where he's buried at I'll go up and take a picture of the headstone.
