I am an avid family historian for over 30 years and a native Montanan. When I was working on my MA thesis in History ("Myron Brinig's Butte: Jews in the Wide Open Town"), I spent a summer transcribing the information from the graves at the B'Nai Israel cemetery in Butte (my home town).
Family names I am researching include:
Wilson - McWhirter
Chartier/Carter - Neveu
Bertrand - Kuether
Sutherland - Sollars
Brittain - McMinn
Vance - Cole
Douthitt - Moore
Dillworth - Stilwell
Find a Grave is not a scholarly website. I think it has many purposes including providing catharsis and aiding with the grieving process, helping people with their family history, connecting relatives, remembering the dead, finding burial sites, etc. Those who think it is only for locating graves have a narrow imagination.
Sometimes all we know about a family member is what is printed in an old biography or what someone told us. This acts as a foundation for finding, correcting, adding to their history. I believe this should be a friendly collaborative process where we build together a story as we find more information. I will make mistakes. Feel free to let me know and I will correct.
My philosophy on transfers is simple - I believe memorials should be in the hands of relatives, even if not close relatives. I am happy to transfer, in fact I am waiting for the relatives of the B'Nai Israel and St. Patrick's cemetery memorials to contact me to care for their family memorials. I'm happy to transfer to relatives.

|Frank Leighton||Charles Easton|
I believe this Charles Easton, son of John Easton & Annie Mands, born in 1880`s, married Mary Jane Leighton. I do not have his dates - but I have a photo of this couple (Charles & Mary Jane) taken in Knightswood, Glasgow about the 1950`s.
|Margaret Moreno||Mary King Vance|
I noticed that the link to her husband is missing, John Vance.
They are my third Great Grandparents.
Is there a error.

|Bonnie K||Find A Grave Memorial# 75075919 - Harriet Jane Armstrong|
Hi Pam, I have been researching Harriet Jane Armstrong, as I believe her to be my 3rd great-aunt. But that is only if she is a member of the King family. On Ancestry.com there is a record documenting the marriage of a Hetty King and a William Armstrong in Hawkins County, Tennessee on 03 Mar 1841. This record led me to Harriet Jane King Armstrong. Harriet Armstrong is also mentioned in the will of her father, William King. While none of this is definitive proof that this Harriet Armstrong is the same Harriet Armstrong in Memorial# 75075919, I was wondering how you obtained the information that the Fulkersons are her parents. I would appreciate any help you can give me on this subject.

I am not related. I am a friend of her grandson, R.J. I have not spoken with him for a few years, but I know he and his mother live in Liberty, Missouri now. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

BTW, thank you for all the work you have done on adding and maintaining memorials.

Etta's middle and maiden name would be from a marriage record and/or information provided by historian John Jordan in one of his books (probably Western PA, v 3, which I am currently working on converting to data points here) combined with available census records.
Too much time has passed and I've worked on dozens of other families since this one. If you don't want to accept the correction, it makes no difference to me--just trying to help here to provide correct information and make it easier for those not used to working with primary AND secondary documents.

Thank you so much for the transfer, Pam. I will post complete dates and a bio for him.
|Jeffrey Barber||Fred Hunter Grave|
My name is Jeff Barber member # 48460072. I was in Garneill today and went by the Ubet Garneill cemetery. As I wrote in the problem field, the cemetery is on private land but I was told who to ask for permission and will get back there. I did want to add though, that the gentleman I talked said a fire some time back went through the cemetery and burned the wooden grave markers. Hopefully Fred Hunter's marker is stone. I just wanted to let you know. Thank you.
