I have a lifelong interest in genealogy. Although I am unable to be a photo volunteer, or canvass cemeteries, I've gotten good at finding people that belong in family trees. Am happy to help anyone who is looking for someone who has "gotten lost." I especially like to focus on those people who do not have living descendants to remember them. It's been my observation from years of research that lots of people never had children of their own, and they are the ones who kind of get forgotten as the decades go by. They may have died young, or lived single, or just couldn't have kids for whatever reason. But I think everyone should be remembered and findagrave is a wonderful place to do just that.|

The only addl info I have is that the stone is located in Block 25, Plot 90. You may want to check with Colfax City Hall and see if they have more information in their records. The Ph number is 515 674 4096.

I am very interested in the graveyard photo. Are you familiar with the cemetery at all? Where the fence is, is (still) the north fence line. However, instead of farmland, it is now a golf course.
If you would like a map of the place, I have one I can email it to you.
Also, that headstone - is that the husbands? I may have to hunt that down when I get back to town. I cannot believe I haven't gotten your site photographed. I put that in my book of sites to search :)
Let me know if I can help out with anything else.

You are most welcome. The flag was already on the the grave when I arrived. I am guessing one of the local chapters of the Daughters of Union Veterans placed it there. His grave is in the unendowed section of the cemetery, and I suspect the DUV help keep the plot cleaned up.

You are very welcome. We were in Kearney and decided to take some pix while we were there so if there are more of my memorials that you are related to please feel free to ask for a transfer. Happy Hunting!!!
I was happy to transfer. I do this to help others. I'm not sure who Mary Lewis is. I can't read her dates, but if she is kin, you probably can get that info. Ancestry.com is so great to get help from. I'm not sure how I missed creating her memorial, but it's done now and also transferred. Linda

I'd be happy to transfer Bonita Meyers to you. Please go to her memorial, click on the "Edit" tab and send the request that way. Doing so will give me your member number as well as her memorial and it will go smoothly. thanks.

I think the way we receive information changed when Ancestry.com took over findagrave. Like you, I'm used to checking my e-mail, so will just have to remember to check it the new way to keep up on things. I agree that findagrave is an awesome site and I definitely enjoyed being a volunteer photographer.

Unfortunately I didn't get your edit information regarding Reah's dates and places of birth and death. I've been able to complete both dates as well as where she was born, but not sure where she died.

I haven't receieved anything yet for Reah's birth & death dates so you might want to send it again. Hopefully you got what I sent you about where Lewis Kitchel is buried, it should clarify things for you.
