RE: Eleanor Choate
Yes, I have the book, and visited the site of the skirmish a couple of years ago...
I didn't know about Eleanor's husband after RJ died.

Eleanor Choate
Hi Cindi,
You made a correction (of which I agree) that Lizzie Choate Beasley's parents were John Beasley and Eleanor Choate (Rufus' sister). Do you know if this the same Eleanor Choate who married Jonas Spicer in 1864? (Jonas died in 1869)

Jesse Parker
My ggg-grandfather Drew Pate married Elizabeth Jane Parker from MS. He was the owner of a ship or ships headquartered off the coast of MS. (Horne Island) Drew died in 1851 from yellow fever. Elizabeth Jane Parker Pate had 3 son and maybe one daughter. She moved back to Clarke County, MS. and married Stephen Overstreet. Later she married S.J. Prichett and lived in Paulding, MS. Then she followed her sons to Nacogdoches County. Texas.

I believe that Jesse Parker is related to Elizabeth Jane Parker. In 1880 he was living in the household of William Duncan Hicks and Manerva Spidel Hicks. Also living in their household was Lizzie A. Hicks 9 months old, Jesse Parker 18 years old b. MS. and Martha Hicks age 52, mother of Duncan b. 1828 in MS.

Duncan was the brother of Rachel Mae Hicks Pate who is my gg grandmother. She was born in MS. and moved to Texas. She was married to William Robert Pate from Clarke County MS.

From notes that were handed down to me, Elizabeth Jane Parker's parents were Ruben Parker and Malviny Parker. Ruben was noted as being a Sheriff in MS.

This may not be the Jesse Parker that you are looking for but, this is about all that I have on him for now. I have been working on him for sometime and am not getting anywhere.

I sent edits to link Blish Harkrider to her parents, John Martin & Clara Stokes Wright. Was George Landford Wright the son of John Martin & Clara?

I found the obituary for Clarisa Wright Cox. She was buried in California. Her obit has Carter Wright as her brother. I am trying to get the Wrights linked. I was told Blish Harkrider is a sister to Clarisa and Carter. Do you know the names of any more children of Clarisa and John Martin West Wright?

Henry Tidwell #24059604

I saw that you left flowers for Henry Tidwell, memorial #24059604. I am working on this memorial right now. The obituary states that Henry was the son of SUSAN Tidwell. This Henry is the same age that Sarah Ann and Reuben Henry Tidwell's son, James H., would have been, according to the 1880 census. Do you know that this was obit indeed for James Henry Tidwell, their son? The headstone picture on this memorial is being moved to a new memorial for Reuben Henry Tidwell, born 1808. The stone is not original and was set, along with other Jarrett familiy members, by Gary Strickland, and it was set for Reunben Henry, husband of Sarah Ann Jarrett. Would love to hear your thoughts on this Tidwell family.

Thanks so much,

Edward Harris
I'm looking for relatives that may be buried in Red Banks Mississippi. Edith Harris (daughter) and Inez Vincent (Edith's daughter) had Red Banks on their death certificate. Just wondering if you knew anything about them, since you are listed on Inez sister Ada Sheridan memorial, didn't know if you were kin or knew anything about them. Just checking.
Thanks Delores Harris Cantrell
