Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is William, and I started this to help me with a genealogy project I was assigned in a research class in college.

The memorials I have placed on Find-A-Grave are of family members. Thank you to everyone who have placed flowers in memory of them. I also appreciate the help of all of you who have taken the time to take headstone photos for me, or have provided photos and/or documents. Special thanks to those who have sponsored some of my memorials.

RE: Raymond Elbert Hayes
Hi, William -- I'm actually connected through his first wife. She's the one I'm related to, albeit a bit distantly. Cheers!

RE: Transfer of Memorials
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that you transferred these memorials to my care. When I get a chance in the next couple of days I plan on working on their bios. I have a Fosdick family bible that goes back to the 1860's.

Thank you again.

Transfer of Memorials
My name is Dean Carter. Aaron Carrington Fosdick memorial #23119994 and Olive Dolly Moon Fosdick memorial #23120225 were my 3x great grandparents. My 2x great grandfather was Joel Daniel Fosdick, my great grandfather was Albert Rakestraw Fosdick and my grandmother was Ruth Celestia Fosdick. My mom is Verlie Henline Carter. Over the last decade I have traced our family history back several 100 years. Traveling to dozens of cemeteries, court houses, historical society's, etc. I would greatly appreciate it if you would turn over the care of these memorials to my care.

Thank you,
R Dean Carter

Willard Pershing Graber died 11 July 1988, not 1989. If you could please be so kind as to update his memorial to correct this, that would be wonderful. It reads at the bottom of the memorial that he died in 1989. The California Death Index entry to confirm this is found at http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?gss=angs-g&new=1&rank=1&msT=1&gsfn=Willard+Pershing&gsfn_x=1&gsln=Graber&gsln_x=1&MSAV=1&cp=0&catbucket=rt&uidh=q42&pcat=ROOT_CATEGORY&h=2802410&recoff=6+7+8&db=CAdeath1940&indiv=1&ml_rpos=2

Bill, Albert Sebok was featered on the Right side of the Find A Grave page under the "Now Honoring" section. Do you realize that the couple photo is a colorized B&W photo. It looks neat.

RE: Joseph Morman Balla
William,
The information for Joseph's memorial was taken entirely from a death notice published in a Cleveland paper. Because these notices which were originally on a card file at the Cleveland Public Library then mass scanned and loaded with no attempt to verify the accuracy of the scanning, there were numerous spelling errors, especially names. If you think you have better info, you probably do. Since he's no relation to me, would you like me to transfer his memorial to you?

RE: Reference Question
By the way, would you like me to transfer John Belan's memorial to you? No pressure, just an offer !

RE: Reference Question
Hi again :) I see you submitted a photo request for John Belan which was going to be my suggestion :) The person who claimed your request is a very speedy and helpful volunteer who often goes the "extra mile" by securing the precise plot location, taking more than one photograph and he manages to locate some amazing supporting documents such as obituaries, photograph and family records.

This is the link to the online Sexton records for Pioneer Cemetery:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-26179-16266-25?cc=1985807&wc=M6PX-KMF:264571301,264571302

I believe I've entered just about every record, save for those that were illegible or for which a memorial was already created. If you cannot access these records, I'd be happy to send you a clipping of the page for John Belan (I'll need an email address). Hope this is helpful:)

RE: Reference Question
Hi - In general, a Sexton is the person in charge of funeral/burial records for a particular cemetery, here's a link to a detailed explanation:

https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Sexton_Records

When I reference a Sexton record it means that I used the records (the specific entry), created by the cemetery Sexton (these records are sometimes transcribed, sometimes original handwritten entries). Many of these records are available online (primarily to familysearch.org and/or individual county/country sites) and I have found many cemetery offices (in the US) allow one to review records in person. If you have a question regarding a specific memorial, please let me know and I may be able to retrace my steps and locate the original copy to send you :)

RE: Reference Question
Hi - this means I used the Sexton entry for part or all of the memorial data.
