Bio and Links
Bio Photo Genealogy is in my blood, my Mom got me interested in researching our family when I was 18. I now maintain the Henderson County TXGenWeb site.
I am a member of the Henderson County Historical Commission, TX A.G.O. (Athens Genealogical Org.), Sarah Maples Chapter of the NSDAR and The Confederate Rose Texas Chapter of the UDC - United Daughters of the Confederacy.

I like to help out researchers and by adding other names maybe someday someone will add my allusive ancestors.

Go to my Dad's memorial Ray Shumate and leave a flower, he loved motorcycles, airplanes and old cars!!

Transfer requests should only be for DIRECT relatives within four generations. This would be your spouse, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, great-grandparents, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When requesting a transfer, please state your relationship to the individual.

Any NON-DIRECT relatives (aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. For these extended family members, you can create and add them to your Virtual Cemeteries.

The Genealogists Psalm
Genealogy is my pastime, I shall not stray.
It Maketh me lie down and examine half-buried tombstones. It Leadeth me into still courthouses;
It restoreth my ancestral knowledge.
It leadeth me in paths of census records and ship's passenger lists for my surname's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the shadows of research libraries and microfilm readers,
I shall fear no discourgement.
For a strong urge is within me;
The curiosity and motivation they comforteth me.
It annointeht my head with burning mid-night oil; My family group sheets runneth over.
Surely birth, marriage, and death dates shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of a family history seeker forever.

John Sterling Allen Find A Grave Memorial# 44899848
I saw a note that you are related to J. S. Allen, so I thought I'd pass this short note about his death on to you.

Dallas Morning News; Sept 13, 1909
The body of Dr. J. S. Allen, who died Saturday night at his home west of the city, was sent yesterday afternoon by George W. Loudermilk to Ennis for interment.

Thanks for your generosity in transferring your memorials for these little sisters of my Grampa Will Alexander. Their memories were dear to him and it has been a joy to reunite the family.

Ira Dabney "Boss" Lewis

My name is Tommy Rush and Ira Dabney Lewis is my great-great grandfather, too!

My mother is Shirley Marie Lewis Rush. My grandfather is Harold Eugene "Katy" Lewis. My great grandfather is Jack Wofford "Doc" Lewis.

I grew up in Temple, TX and now live in Bartlesville, OK.

Do you have any information going past James Jefferson Lewis, our great-great-great grandfather?
