Bio and Links
Bio Photo I volunteer at Oakwood Cemetery in Niagara Falls and I enjoy putting up memorials for our residents. I will gladly accept transfers for Oakwood folks, too. I will take good care of them.

I have some limited access to St. Mary's and Sacred Hearts Cemeteries, which are adjacent to Oakwood, although most of their records have been destroyed and the cemeteries are in ill repair.

St. Joseph's, Holy Trinity and Gate of Heaven (Lewiston) are not far away and within my travel range for photo requests. I will only take photo requests that already have grave section/area info because these are HUGE cemeteries. Call the cemetery office, tell them you are from far away and ask they provide you with the info so you can send someone else to get the photo. Most places will do one or two requests for FREE. After more than a couple, however, be prepared to pay some sort of fee.

Riverdale and Accacia Park will NOT process requests for Find A Grave photographers and are particularly unfriendly about it. Call them and get the grave location and put it in your photo request. These cemeteries want to charge photographers if they go in and ask for help. For one or two requests, they MIGHT do it over the phone for YOU. Remember: your family BOUGHT plots there. They work for YOU.

Visit my Virtual Cemetery "Oakwood's River Folks" for folks who have died stunting at The Falls or in The Niagara River and then stop by and say hi to my recently departed best friend, Eilean "Ellie" Lyonhil Donan in the Virtual Cemetery, "Beloved Friends".

RE: Jeremiah Irons
He does not seem to be military as far as I can tell, but he is old enough to have fought in the War of 1812.

RE: Jeremiah Irons
I was going by information that an Irons family researcher had culled from his research. I've been mapping the Irons family that arrived in Massachusetts in the 1660s from England, and moved on to New York and then Michigan. It seems the Irons in Caldwell come from a man with the last name Irons who came from Ireland. I could be wrong as my research hasn't focused on any Missouri Irons people.

RE: Jeremiah Irons
I'm not sure. I'd hate to say it is when I can't make out more info on the stone. Thank you for looking!

RE: Elizabeth Ott
Morning Scott

What is the website you use to look up burial info..The other names I am looking for are Michael (1812-1892) and Elisabeth (1814-1894) FEDERSPEIL.

I have found a lot of burial info and dates on the free website fultonhistory.com...along with some "juicy" facts about family..try it...it's addicting!

Mount Calvary in Cheektowaga has computerized most of the burials and it makes it so much easier to search...I've been working on taking photos and listing names in an Italian cemetery across the street from Mount Calvary ...it contains so many of those headstones with the picture medallions and many have been damaged by some idiot with a BB gun...I was so thrilled when I found my husband's gr-grandmother with a photo and hope someone searching for their ancestor will get the same thrill.

Ott
Hey Scott...now that I know that there is a headstone I will take a road trip in the spring...I don't know Elisabeth's death date and want to find out if her parents and siblings are there also, so I'll need to visit the office...Read your profile and have run into the same issues when trying to get info in some cemetery offices...I don't know where they get the impression that we get paid for taking these photos??...Thanks again!..Carol

Thank you very much for adding the changes to Clifford Melville Chambers. I agree with you that it needs to be noted that a Veteran died under those conditions. He had been out of work for some time.
