First, let me state I do this for my love of cemeteries and history, and it's a positive way to give back to the community.

I DON'T do this just to increase my MEMORIALS as many do here!!

I volunteer my time and efforts to honor requests for anyone who asks.
You may send me an email and ask personally for me to photograph a graves site, or go through the Find A Grave method by posting a request from the memorial directly.

PLEASE don't post decedents pictures from the local newspapers on my memorials; if you do, I will notify Find A Grave administrators.

If you would like to have the available obituary for your relative or loved one in the Colorado Springs area, I may have an obituary archived; please ask!!

You may use my photographs for your own personal genealogy files under two simple conditions: ASK ME FIRST please, and then give me credit for the photograph. I have had people copy my pictures then post them on Ancestry.com and on genealogy websites....and that is NOT right to use my work without my permission, which is why it is now copyrighted material!!

Please note: I am inactive on Find a Grave from the end of September - March.

Re: Welcome to Find A Grave
Hello!

And thank you! Though I have done the cemetery search before I am new to findagrave. I am going to be there as a historical researcher so I am going to be in much of the old Pioneer section.

I took on photos that have claimed issues for a few reasons, one being that members who posted them could have the wrong information about where a person maybe buried (especially in older sections). The second was that some requests asked for a photo of the plot even if there was no maker. I thought since I am going to be there anyway I could hunt around and at least get a shot of the plot for them.

The group I am going with is actually going to be in Fountain tomorrow at the Fairview Cemetery doing conservation work. As a fellow cemetery enthusiast you are more than welcome to come see the efforts! (if you come be sure its the Fountain address not the Colorado Springs address! There are two Fairviews around here as I learned the hard way!)

Cheers!

your photo request for Sunset cemetery
Hi I noticed you had an old request for this cemetery. I go there several times a year to pay respects to our family members. Sunset will not give the section and plot info to you if you are a non family member thus I can not get it. If you call them and get it to me I will gladly take the requested picture or pictures next time I am up there.

Ira F. Mountain
I would like to know if Ira and Delbert (his brother) share the same parents. It says that Delbert's parents were Lewis Henderson Mountain and George Ann Horrell or Harrell. Ira's parent's are Luther and Mary Mountain? Is this so?? I was told that Delbert's birth parents died early and did not raise him...he was raised by other people. So, did he keep the family name of Mountain or drop it with new parents? I family member David Mountain in Kirksville, Mo. now living told me that Delbert's birth mother was an Indian?? Delbert and Fern Warburton had a child together and her name was Ruth born August 12, 1921. Ruth's family wants to know if there was any Indian in the family? I could use some help Julie

Lorena Long, #13520330
I added your headstone picture of the above lady to my StanClan family tree. I'm sorry that I didn't ask you first for permission but I did give you credit for the picture. I hope you'll give permission now. What I am really hoping for is that you know something about Lorena's son Charles Earnest Long. Charles married a woman name of Mabel Clare Gose, daughter of my 2nd great aunt, Serilda Stanley Gose. Charles was born in Grundy County, MO in March of 1884. In 1918 he was convicted of murder in New Mexico and incarcerated in a New Mexico prison. He escaped and I don't believe he was ever recaptured. Its said he did come back but Mabel had divorced him and he decided to let things be. Its further said that he may have changed his last name to Stanley to avoid be captured. After that his existence and death are a complete mystery. If you can shed any light on Charles I hope to hear from you.
