Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family and others genealogy for about the past 10 years. I was born in Iowa, raised in Colorado and have lived in Nebraska for 43 years. I'm now in Omaha where all 4 of my children live with their spouses and children. I'm a blessed person!
Some of the names I'm researching are Lawler, Wright, Crump, Mitchell, Harris, Gasaway, and many, many more.

William Gasaway
Hi, Janet, I understood that William's full name was William Hines Mitchell Gasaway, but I see on his stone that it is William J. Gasaway. Please explain. Thanks. Carol Hines

Augustus Payton
Dear Janet,
Is there a photo of Augustus Payton's gravestone?
The NSDAR will not accept Find a Grave's information without a photo OR does Old Salem Church Cemetery have their own listing of graves?
I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thank you so much,

Lee

RE: Edward & Emma Blunk Crump
Hi Janet,
Looks like we are cousins. Andrew Jackson Blunk is my 3x great grandfather. I'm not quite sure how we are related, but something like third cousins I suppose. While looking into this, I see that there is a memorial for Emma in the same cemetery, but in the wrong county. Bethany United is right in downtown New Middletown. Not sure what to do about it though. Happy to transfer them to you if you like. Just let me know.

RE: Mary Ritchey Lawler Tombstone
I live north of Knob Noster but I would be glad to show you where the grave is located. Curently, the winter weather is the problem. If the cold is not a problem (we could dress for it)just let me know when you can come and we will go to the Combs Cemetery. There has been no maintence for several years of the cemetery. It is in rough condition. Let me know when you can come and I will be ready to go.

RE: Mary Ritchey Lawler Tombstone
I believe I could locate her grave easily but I do not recall what graves are nearby.

Combs Cemetery is in bad condition. Sometime ago someone did some work cleaning it up but it has become overgrown badly again with brambles and brush.

RE: John Followell
There are five Followell stones there; four of them have been placed on the wooden bench and one is still standing in the middle of the cemetery.

The two stones with initals J.F. & S.F. have no other inscriptions.

The darker, broken stone on the bench reads:In Memory of Sinthy who died on Feburary 27,1845 Aged: 20 years, 9 months and 10 days.
"Yes my native land I love thee
All thy scenes I love them well.
Friends connect, ---s happy country
Can I bid you all farewell"

The stone leaning on the end of the bench states:
F.B. son of S&E Followell born Oct. 22, 1846 died June 9, 1865 Aged: this line is unreadable.

The stone still standing in the middle of the cem. is for R.A. Followell, wife of T.J. Followell born Oct 1, 1842, died May 15, 1865

There are other stones broken off just above the ground but none contain any inscriptions.
