I was born in Baton Rouge and my parents, grandparents and great grandparents were born in Southern Mississippi. It thrills me to carry the history by sharing photos and all I can. I was given a lot from aunts and numerous family mentors. I'm really jazzed about Find A Grave where I can upload photos of my kin.

I studied at University of Houston & Portland State University, (where I got my bachelor's.)

I love researching and organizing history. I recently "self published" my great grandfather's autobiography and stories. Had to put it somewhere for family to find. It was "Autobiography & Stories of Henry P Lewis." I was surprised to find it fairly easy to put up my research at,'s publishing services, and I recommend this service. I still believe in making "hard copies" for the family and always prefer reading the phyiscal book.

Another site that I deeply appreciate is, where PDF's of old books about Mississippi and other staes, and some of the counties can be downloaded, for free. (They can also use contributions.)

When I'm not researching and archiving I'm reading historical fiction, in order to better my writing abilities. I also spend time buying good books for my daughter, or having fun with my hubbie.

I look forward to frequenting local graveyards and taking photos.

RE: Mary Rosan Davis's mother, Rosa Lewis Pigott
Hi Martha. Yes, all indication is that the younger Mary Rosa was daughter of the older one and Elias Warren Pigott. Her death certificate should offer that proof. I do not know for sure, but word passed down was that the older Mary Rosa died of complication from the birth of her daughter, the younger Mary Rosa. Good luck!

RE: Needham & Mary Lewis Alford Family
Thank you for the lovely compliment, Martha. Regarding, Celia's father, I did not know his name. I "inherited" photos & letters related to the Alford's, and just wanted to share as much as possible. :)

RE: Needham Alford Cem photo
My pleasure! I had second... and third thoughts about adding it. I thought it unique and hoped others would also. Besides, I hated to just trash it after using it in my online tree!
