Death comes once, but a cemetery is forever
-Phillip M. O'Shea

The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important.
-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

"Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them"
- George Eliot

Please feel free to contact me about any graves I have listed. If I have listed someone that you are related to and I am not and you would like them transferred to you, please just let me know. If we are both related then I will have to think about it. Please feel free to use any of my photo's anywhere you want.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
(rev 21:4)

"Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and the date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who cares
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you."
-Poem by Walter Butler Palmer

A LIMB HAS FALLEN

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don't worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we're together again.

Old Quaker Burial Ground
There are no headstones. Quakers did not mark the graves (at least up here).
The photo of the Old Burying Ground in Queensbury that is posted at Find a Grave is what anyone looking will find if they visit the actual burial ground.

Eagalite Cemetery
Hi Barbara,
I was able to get most of your requests in Eagalite Cemetery today. The ones I was not able to find I left for the next person to try for.
The stone for Betty Walck is not engraved at this time. Do you want to wait or do you want me to put it up any way? Let me know.

RE: Koiner
Also, I had been searching in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Woodstock for them...for quite awhile. I was happy to hit upon the idea that they might just be buried in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Market.

RE: Koiner
You are welcome. I went back a 2nd day to get a better shot of Gideon Koiner's. The headstones are in great shape.
