Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm fairly new to genealogy and researching, but the bug has bitten hard.

Any photos that I have posted, feel free to copy for your use. When I take a photo, my hope is that it will be useful to researchers, be appreciated by survivors, and enjoyed by them all.

Grave Profile Transfer for Eloise Lamar Crossley
Hello, I am requesting transfer of the profile Eloise Lamar Crossley (and her relatives/decedents if associated with your account). She was my grandmother and any Lamar/Crossley relative profiles would like to be maintained by the family.

Thank you kindly for your time.

May S. Motts
Would you please connect May S. Motts to John William and Ozella Shackelford? She is their only daughter and second child. Her middle initial stands for Shackelford, but in some ways, it could also stand for Stephenson, her first married name. She was first married to Robert W. Stephenson, had a daughter by him, Dorothy May Stephenson who is buried at Smith Oaks plantation, and was divorced from him in the late 40s or early 50s. She was a well-known school teacher and counselor in the Columbus public schools.
Thanks so much,

Her niece,
Martha Phillip Shackelford Brown
Daughter of Oakley Phillip Shackelford and Nellie Kate Agnew Shackelford

Pauline Hindsman #50874132
Hi, Dixie, thank you so much for all of your contributions to findagrave!

I see that you added Pauline Hindsman. I am wondering if you are possibly related or if you would possibly have any information on Mr Hindsman's previous wife Mary Francis? I believe she is a relative for whom I have been searching for a long time.

RE: Lucille O'Gwynn Thomas
Well that makes perfect sense! I will pass it on to the person who wrote to me and add a description to explain. Thank you!!

Lucille O'Gwynn Thomas
Hi Dixie,
Thank you so much for all the photos you've added for my memorials! The pictures really help in so many ways. I'm not sure how it happened, but one of the memorials got the wrong picture uploaded. Could you please take a look at Lucille O'Gwynn Thomas in Artesia Cemetery, Find A Grave# 33599200? The name on the stone is Boozer. I got an email from another Find A Grave member who found it. Thank you again for spending so much of your time making Find A Grave better!

Thanks for the article link. I had found that this fall. My family has a few black sheep. It was finally my turn to show my husband that his family wasn't perfect.

Will Owen
Hi Dixie,
It was great to hear from you after a long absence. Thank you for thinking of me and sending the notice from the "Columbus Dispatch" of Will Owen's illness dated Aug. 31, 1905. Below are the identities.

Will was my grandmother's oldest brother and T.G. Owen was my great grandfather. The Dr. Owen of Mobile, mentioned in the newspaper article really wasn't a doctor, but a pharmacist. But I suppose in those days, when you wanted to treat typhoid fever it helped to have someone who knew about drugs. Meanwhile Dr. Crigler was a real doctor and his wife, Kate, was my grandmother's first cousin. This is really more than I think you want to know about this part of my family! I guess whatever the treatment was worked because Will Owen didn't die until 1955.
