For all of you Find a Grave contributors who have pages and pages of your own rules you expect everyone to follow when trying to send you SAC's and otherwise communicate with you--GET REAL. If that's how you view the Find a Grave database, maybe you should rethink your philosophy.|
I was delighted to learn of Find a Grave. It's a way to remember people once they leave this world.
I am usually more than happy to transfer memorials to family members if I'm not also related and will evaluate each request individually.
I send a special thanks to all who take their time to add memorials and flowers and post photos, especially those of you who walk the cemeteries.

"Once 16 million strong, U.S. veterans of World War II are dying at a rate of more than 1,000 a day and now number about 2.5 million, the Department of Veterans Affairs estimates."
That was a few years back, so the numbers have surely changed. I've heard more recent numbers ranging from 600 to 790 per day. These veterans are in their 80's and 90's now, and there are predictions they will all be gone by 2020. Please, let's remember them, heroes one and all, with Find a Grave.

I have transferred this memorial to you for management. Since you are managing his wife's memorial I felt it was good to keep the family together.

Disregard my question about baby Lillian on the last post. It was answered with the second SAC. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the correction on Carl and Sarah. What a tragic story. I have linked him with his wife, Lori. Would you know if Lillian, who is buried with Lori, is also Carls daughter? If so I will make that link also.

You are very welcome, I agree about the large headstones they are far and few between. I wanted to tell you, I love the picture of the dog you have, To cute!

Thank you for the reference to Ancestry. It gave me the full death date and from that I was able to contact the Marshall library to get a copy of the obituary for Mary Elle Dillon. Since I am only in Missouri in the July timeframe, it would have had to wait until next year otherwise.
The reference to her parents is now complete. If you are related to Mike Dillon who graduated from Mercy High School in Marshall in about 1964, I am sorry to hear about his death in 2009. I graduated a year behind him and remember him well.
