Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born August 29, 1943 in Powell, Wyoming. I joined the US Navy in 1963 and spent 2 years in Southeast Asia in the Philippines and Vietnam. I then attended the U of Colorado for a year and a half under the NESEP program and was then transfered to Europe for 4 years, stationed at Rota, Spain. After that I was sent to Washington D.C. for 4 years. At that time I retired and attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, where I attained a BS in Mortuary Science. I owned and operated two funeral homes, one in Moline, Kansas, and the other in Sedan, Kansas, for 26 years. I retired from the business in 2001. I am currently residing in Wichita, Kansas, and am an accountant for Wal Mart Corp.

I am married, the father of two daughters. I have traced my ancestry back several centuries and am still in the process of chasing down my brickwalls.

As a former funeral director, I find cemeteries fascinating and love to contemplate past lives and histories of the families there.

I am more than happy to make corrections and add relationship links but am curtailing (not stopping) transferring memorials due to growing misunderstanding of what Find A Grave is about by those discovering the site for the first time. The time members have put into their efforts working together and sharing information is not up for grabs based on same-name surname or lineage and I will not do any of these type of transfers.

Del - Thank you for adding Ellen's parents to her memorial. It is always comforting somehow to be able to link families together. Regards - Janet

big Thank You for all your work...
Dear Del, Thank You for all your hard work!! I am using your information on the Bowhan family to link them into families and extended family. Could not get this done without your help. What a difference you and Find A Grave have made in our lives as we gather all our family members. I now have 51,000 family members on my grandfather's line--of which the Bowhan family is a part. What a blessing you are to our families.

Please correct father for Roland Berndt # 38571307. It should be Dr. George Berndt Memorial # 65586102. I sent you the wrong memorial number yesterday.

RE: Rodney Roy Brosius / Roy Sylvester Tyree
No problem. It would be really helpful if this site had more name fields because the search engine is pretty bad.

Forrest Ward probably missed the note the memorial creator made about the grave being 'unmarked'. I check and she is correct. Mr. Ward and his wife are buried in the Joseph A. Beronio plot; A5-South Lot 5 Row 5. I posted a pic of the plot.

Rodney Roy Brosius / Roy Sylvester Tyree
Hello! I have made a change request to Rodney's memorial so that his birth surname is in the maiden name field. By doing that, his memorial will show up in a search of people with that surname.

Rodney was the half-brother of my grandfather, Robert J. Tyree, Sr.

William Thomas Tuck (1893 - 1983)*
Do you happen to know why the link from your memorial # 22847200 to William Thomas Tuck #22847217 doesn't work (can't be found)?

Mr. Huggins

I just want to let you know how nice Ellen was. She was the iconic "old lady" in the "spooky house" in our neighborhood on Fairmount street, Wichita. Though we were afraid of her when we were very young due to her old age, we enjoyed her when we got older. Her house was a required subject to sketch in some of the Wichita State University art classes. We would see a row of students seated on the curb across the street sketching away in nice weather. We just hated that the house was taken down. It was so sad when her brother was taken away, she was very distraught.
