Howdy hi! While you're here, I'd appreciate it if you'd leave a flower for my grandma, Lola June "Nan" Beckstead. She passed away in 2009, and things just haven't been quite the same since then.|
I got into Find A Grave after Nan passed away. There was some animosity within my family, and as a result, she never had an obituary in the paper and she was never interred with Grandpa like she wanted. I felt like everyone was trying to forget my Nanny. A couple years after her passing I made her a memorial on Find A Grave so I could have somewhere to go to remember her, and let everyone know what a great person she was.
After I made her memorial I made one for my grandpa, and my great-grandparents, and eventually I started taking pictures at local cemeteries and making memorials for people I didn't even know. I enjoy the research aspect, but most importantly I don't want anyone to be forgotten, just like I made sure Nan wasn't.
When I'm not out graving I'm an avid crocheter and crazy cat lady, and I'm rather fond of sitting around playing video games instead of getting a haircut and/or a real job. I've also recently taken up fishkeeping.
I spent the first 19 years of my life in Reno, Nevada, but on July 21, 2015 I packed up my 35 pets and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science at Mesa Community College. Unfortunately, we had one casualty during the trip, one of our beloved fancy mice. Minnie Mae will be forever missed!
Most of my ancestors hail from Utah. My family tree includes the following surnames: Beckstead, Butterfield, Channing, Childs, Cowdell, Dody, Haddenham, Jacobsen, Jenkins, Johnson, Reed and Thompson.
I will transfer any of my memorials to anyone that requests them (except of course my grandparents, Francis & Lola Beckstead, and my great-grandparents, Lizzie & David Channing and Ivies & Myrtle Beckstead). Whether it's out of guidelines or in bulk; if you can make the memorial(s) better, you are welcome to manage. Also feel free to use my photos, there is no need to ask permission or credit me.
If you're not a member of Find A Grave but would like me to make corrections to a memorial, feel free to send me an email! Make sure to include either a link to the memorial(s) you want corrected, or the memorial number.
If I haven't responded to your correction/email in 3-4 days, send me a message here or send me another email! Sometimes old-style corrections get lost in the mass of "Edit Processed" emails, or I just flat-out forget (I have a bad habit of reading emails at 3 am, marking them as read, then going to sleep and accidentally forgetting about them, lol).
I'm a big fan of the virtual flowers feature here on Find A Grave, so I like to leave tokens not only for the people I make memorials for, but also the families of those people, folks on the random stroll, and just any memorial I happen to visit. Most of the flowers in my scrapbook are fancy, cute, colorful, sparkly, or otherwise snazzy, and I understand this style isn't exactly everyone's cup of tea. So, if you don't like a token I've left for your loved one, just send me a message or an email and I'll be happy to replace it with something different or remove it altogether (whichever you prefer).

That is quiet alright......i send out and i look maybe a month later to see if they added.....if you have not done so i usually put something in virtual flower that tells them what paper its and and the date.....and let it go at that....so put it on there.......some dont. i think that it looks better on there cuz it gives people more info when they are looking for relatives.
Thanks for adding

If his marker is still there, it would be a cenotaph so, from what I have read, it would be appropriate to have a memorial there and have it marked as a cenotaph. What I have done for a few like this is add a comment in the bio section with the imbedded link to their cenotaph.
Thanks for the offer but I don't need a photo request. I'm out there pretty regularly so I'll take the picture and add it to the memorial when it's installed (it usually takes about 4-6 weeks). I'll send a marker transcription edit when I do so you'll know it's been added.

130832711 at Shady Grove...the initial D is likely Dolby like his father Allen Dolby Gould. I was wondering since you are familiar with this Portola/Shady Grove cemetery is there any list of burials perhaps? I'm thinking Cyril Allen's wife Violet Elizabeth who died in 1987 might be buried with him here. Any info you might share would be appreciated. thanks!

Thank you for letting me know that there was a duplicate. I have deleted my memorial; however, I did add the headstone picture to the original memorial.

Thank you for leaving a token for my father
|Phil ||Thank you.|
So sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. Mine is interred in Carson City. You are so kind and generous to have made a record of her. Today was her birthday. And I found her online! Many thanks.
