RE: Henry Hare & wife, Mary (Lowery) Hare
I'm tracing back a Robert Brewster Hare who married into my Cross surname line.
Robert married Mary Evelena "Lena" Cross who was a sister to my great grandfather.
I have his parents as Henry Hare, Jr. & Mary Lowrey
Their daughter, Clara Belle/Clarabelle is buried in the Hainsville cemetery.
Just checking around and saw what might be Robert's parents' memorials.
Nothing that can't wait.

RE: Henry Hare & wife, Mary (Lowery) Hare
Thank you for your help with the Hare's buried in Hainsville Cemetery.
Did you see the 'note' on Find A Grave # 53199121?
Note: Henry, Mary. Chesley,Thomas and Margaret are all on the same marker
There appears to be 2 Henry Hare's buried in the cemetery.
Just trying to sort all this out, get markers preserved with photos before they are completley unreadable.
I really appreciate your help.

Can you tell me the source for Isaac Gerhart's picture(1788-1865, Lancaster, PA)? I am trying to find biographical information.

RE: Catherine Merkley Townsend's parents
Also, I looked at the documents attached to Catherine Hare Merkley's memorial, so they can be removed. Thanks!

RE: Catherine Merkley Townsend's parents
Thanks for the return information. I have processed the links, and also sent a suggested correction for Catherine Hare to move Hare to maiden name and add Merkley to surname.

What a great picture of Catherine Merkley Townsend - many old pictures feature people with grim or stern faces, but she is smiling and looks so sweet!

Catherine Merkley Townsend's parents
Hello. I received the suggested links for Catherine's parents and just had a couple of questions.

1 - The cemetery record for Catherine Townsend says her parents were Henry and Carolina (instead of Catherine) Merkley. Do you have a source for Catherine being Henry's wife/Catherine's mom?

2 - Can you tell me how Catherine Hare Merkley's body came to be lost or destroyed?

Thanks!

RE: HEISELY MARKER IN HARRISBURG
Well, as it so happens, we are planning an exhibit and talk about Mr. Heisely and the Durang brothers of York and their connection to the National Anthem. It will be the weekend of Sept. 13-14 at the John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion in Harrisburg.

Do you have an email address that I could give to those people planning the event so that they might write to you to see how you might be involved?

How fortuitous to meet a descendant online!

HEISELY MARKER IN HARRISBURG
Sir,

The Heisely marker described in this sentence --
"The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has erected an historical marker for George Heisely at the Northwest corner of North 2nd St and Walnut St in Harrisburg." -- is not quite correct. That marker was erected by the City of Harrisburg, not the Commonwealth. I thought you might want to know this.

RE: Copeland
Tom, I sent edits in the "My Edits" tab on your profile for links for your Copeland memorials to their parents, added a middle name for one and some date and place information. I thought you reviewed and approved the edits is why I thanked you. If a memorial owner does not do that within 30 days F-G automatically updates the memorials and this must be what happened.~Laura.
