There is nothing more important than family. I believe we should love and appreciate our family while they are still around.
I am married to a wonderful guy from whom I have inherited the most fascinating family history. I spend a lot of time documenting it for the children. My goal is to connect them in Find A Grave for as far back as I can. Hopefully, it will help others find their loved one's resting places.
We became grandparents in July 2011. Our little boy has brought so much joy into our lives, I have to pinch myself in disbelief each time I thank the Almighty for this brand new blessing. As my husband and I must cross the Atlantic Ocean in order to visit with him, and it's not always possible, we have become cyber-grandparents. Skype has become the next best thing to catching a plane.
We are both retired, and a lot of our time is spent pursuing our many interests.

 | RE: Memorial# 5764 Hi,
You wrote: I just read the Bio on Christopher Columbus. Are you aware that the people of the Republic of Santo Domingo maintain they have the remains of Cristobal Colón (Spanish for Christopher Columbus)? It is known that Spain, checked the DNA and they matched his brother's (buried in Spain). Since the body was moved several times, is it possible both have part of him?
My response: I believe the biography addresses this question with the following sentences: Following his death, he was initially buried at the cathedral in Valladolid, but his grandson supposedly took his remains for burial in Santo Domingo. The cathedral of Seville also claims to hold his remains. All three locations are in dispute.
No change to the biography is needed, as the locations are still disputed. And yes, it is possible that all three locations have parts of his body.
Best wishes,

 | John White Mildred, I wanted to thank you for putting my brothers name in. He is in PR and we are from Massachusetts. Johnny's middle name is spelled "WEBSTER". I do have a question, how do I get a death certificate for him and the newspaper article or any info on his death. I am on oxygen and I went by one of my biggest fears to see him for his birthday, Nov.1, I went on a cruise ship, scared to death but well worth it to see him before he died. I again thank you, please if you know what to do I would appreciate it. Martha E. White-Farrell | | | Leilani
