Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Redwood City, CA and raised in various parts of CA and TX and finally settled in a rural town, Mound House, NV. I'm retired from the State of Nevada and after three years of not really knowing what to do with my extra time I stumbled onto FindAGrave which lead me to our local cemetery. Now I'm in the process of adding 5,000 names to Findagrave for our cemetery. Part of this process is researching some of the names in hopes of finding obituaries on names being added. I also enjoy taking pictures of graves for families. I have a passion for working on genealogy and almost every day have another amazing discovery. My husband John and I enjoy traveling and it's my hopes to travel to various places to take my own pictures of family graves.

I appreciate help from all others who are trying to assist with improving the Lone Mountain Cemetery information. Please know that my information is coming directly from the cemetery records, then this is verified to the County web site and sometimes Ancestry.com before being added. I then walk the section just added to take photos of the grave as further confirmation. This is an ongoing process and links to family members and obits will be added AFTER I have completed the entire cemetery which will probably take a year or more to complete. I will make corrections to what I have added but would appreciate more volunteers adding names and taking pictures so we can complete this process. If you would like more information added, please let me know and I will be more than happy to transfer the memorial to you so you can add that additional information.

It is my hope that my submissions will help to connect someone with their loved ones.

I give my full permission for anyone to use my photos except for USGenweb since they informed me if I use any of their photos they would sue me.

Re: William H. Scott
Melinda --
No, no, there isn't a double memorial, just 2 of the same obits. I took care of it -- I simply added the source of the original obit uploaded by the Blue Rose of Cairo and deleted mine, so the memorial has been spiffed up. Since I always like to see the original source, I wanted, and did, leave the newspaper obit.

William is a member of a Dayton pioneer family, and once I get that family in order and finish adding info to as many of the members as possible, I'll be transferring William to your management and care of the Lone Mountain interred.

Re: William H Scott
A double obit is posted on William's Memorial #88011194 -- one that I typed and the actual newspaper obit added by Blue Cairo (she didn't add the newspaper/date).
Since you're the "keeper" of Lone Mountain entries, would you like me to delete my obit (typed). Makes no difference to me. Your decision.

RE: Newnham's
I added my family, I have been on find a grave almost 10 years, and like some I only add my family and relatives. You have blank tombstone, if they had a cemetery record fine, but that doesn't say were they were born when they died and who their children were. My facts are based on genealogy, and I try and find their death records. A Lot of states ate bad on their records, and what happened to listing memorials by looking at the monument and not reading it off a List? I will add anyone that does not have a Memorial with their name, and a name is first and last name. Just because there are 7 graves in the cemetery and they are Newnham's, they obviously don't know who they are or they would have put a memorial for them. I will add anyone that does not have a memorial for them, that is what it is all about for people to not forget who they are not what a slab that says Newnham.

RE: Newnham
I already added two of them one was John R Newnham, and his wife Emiley Ann Hornback. I do genealogy, and my Father's Grandmother was Sarah Newnham, she was married to Ransom Brock. I have researched this family for almost 20 years, and they are hard to find because everyone misspelled the name, it is spelled Newnham, Newman, Newnham, Newnam, and Nunam. So when I researched these families I have to look for different name spellings, and even than I can't find them. I will try and get it to you as soon as I can, but because it is Xmas Holidays, I have baking, and last minute shopping to do, and it's the busiest time, not counting I had a Doctors appointment, and it is snowing outside, and a seems like so much to do, I will try and see what I have for you. John R Newnham came from Illinois, and settled in Nevada, so if they are buried in Nevada it is probably his family. He was born in 1830, but it's not his father as his father was murdered in Kentucky.

RE: Newnham
I probably do know who they are Melinda, I have adapter problems with my computer, and I am using a old computer to read my email's etc. I will try and download my family tree on this computer, if not I will see what I can find for you.

RE: Rev. Porcella
You were correct. I spoke to the administrator at St. Ann's in Dayton. Roger was cremated and his body returned to NY for burial. I've corrected the memorial. Now to try to track him down there. Blessings!

RE: Rev. Porcella
I've sent a note to the rectory at St. Ann's in Dayton, where his funeral mass was held. Hopeful they can shed so e light on the burial. Once I hear back from them, I'll correct the post. Thanks!

RE: Rev. Porcella
He may simply be listed as Mr. Roger Porcella. You're right he might be buried in Dayton and not Carson City, although he was Administrator/Rector at the Catholic Church in Virgina City for awhile. I wish I had more information beyond his obituary. Roger was my Godfather.
