Bio and Links
Bio Photo Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.

In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.

Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.

Happy Graving ~

Louis DuMort

James Garner
I appreciate your memorial for James Garner. Quite often I hear of a famous death and I will check Find A Grave. I read the bio and often learn something I did not know. Find A Grave is full of people who will fuss and snipe for want of a better description, ignore them. You are performing a service. I have told 4 other people they had duplicates to Mr. Garner; 3 argued with me!

Meshach Taylor
Just an FYI...I'm not sure if this is correct or not.

Meshach Taylor's wife Bianca, his four children and several grandchildren outlive the Massachusetts native, including his mother who just turned 100 years old. Services for Taylor will be held on Saturday, July 5, at Forest Lawn at the Memorial Park-Glendale location.

RE: Richard Dorman
Good luck with adding Mr. Dorman into "famous," Louis. I did find his wife? Jean by him so made her a memorial...and Gail Dorman already had one.

One of my sons told me about the contributor lists, but I haven't looked at them since maybe 2010 so maybe I'll have to check again one day. Good for you for working so diligently! Doing a usually-quality job is quite time-consuming...doing the preparations and getting familiar with places, driving, searching, cleaning, getting the sun to cooperate ~ the heart-felt physical processes that can't be done via Internet ~ and then doing an honorable edit/posting job. When I first checked them out, I saw the woman who had the most requests fulfilled...quite a bit more than anyone else...maybe 1000 then...was credited for finding some people with names of "??? ???"...just like that...which made no sense so I never quite know what was going on with them (I DID once see a marker that looked like it had a question mark on it...shadows from a distance).

But I looked up Taphophilia...GREAT to learn...and was glad to read about Richard Dorman and find his family, and you're surely welcomed for the pix ~ :)
