I have been working on my family genealogy for over 20 years. The family names I am working on are: Grant/Goodwin of Maine and New Hampshire, Corbin/Handy/Mills lines of CT, MA,RI,ME and NH, Higgins, Krahler and Kumlin from WI and MN.|
When my husband and I travel we always look up in Find a Grave for any requests for pictures. We have seen some very unusual and beautiful cemeteries. We have done lots of walking up and down hills at some. We really love the adventures of finding graves for people.

|Chris Newcomb||John T. Newcomb|
John T. Newcomb was my great grandfather. My father had passed along the Ft. Sumter story to us as children but have yet to find any verifying information until I saw your write-up. You mention a book where this story comes from. Can you point me to this book? As far as I know the fort was taken by the confederates and remained in their hands until the end of the war, so I am confused about it.
One other thing, Sarah's maiden name was Davison, not Davidson. Her son, William Davison Newcomb was my grandfather.

I wanted to thank you for making the corrections I sent for some of the memorials in St. John's Cemetery (new and old). I try not to overwhelm when I send them.
Thanks for all your work on Find A Grave.

Actually, somebody else added the picture--her name is under the picture. I'm not related, nor do I have any further info--but she might.

Hello again Marsha,
Thank you for your generosity in transferring Emma Stahl to my care. I have successfully connected her with family. As I receive more information, I will add it to Our shared memorial.
With sincerest appreciation,

Thanks for the info. The stone is pretty illegible and looking at it again I have no idea why I thought it said 1951. I did have a big fat question mark in my notes. ASB

Thank you so much. God Bless.
|sharon purcell||Joseph Di Carlo Jr.|
Please change info. on Joseph Di Carlo Jr.. Fathers info is correct, mothers maiden name is Schupp not Schuff. Amelia Schupp Di Carlo was German and there pp looks like ff in old German writing. Joe and Amelia were my Great Aunt and Uncle, this is their baby boy.

Thanks! These are my great-grandparents and I visit the graves ocassionally. You gave information that is not on the gravestones including the name "Frederick" rather than "Fritz" and the birthpace "Munich" and the father's name "Paul" for Regina. Do you have sources for these items? And, if so, would you share what they are and how I can connect with them, please? Thanks! I'm a newcomer at searching ancestry.
