|Bio and Links|
I've been into family history since the 1960's. I'm grateful that I started when I did as so much family information gets lost because we don't ask questions early on.|
Find a Grave is a great site and powerful resource. Thanks to all who work so hard to fulfill its primary purpose - documenting known burials.
I'm paying particular attention to Salem Memorial Park in Colma, CA. I appreciate being able to help fill in for all that information lost in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire.
The site has also provided a couple of wonderful finds regarding my family history --- primarily Nancy Brenneman Gast Rhodes. Until I found her on Find a Grave, our family thought she died in 1852. I'm hoping to be able to provide similar breakthroughs for others.
I'm happy to make changes and links for well documented information. Please send transcriptions of obits and news articles (with name and date of the publication) rather than uploading images of them to the photo area (this is no longer permitted by Find-a-Grave). Also, please note that "cut and paste" or transcribed census reports are NOT a bio. Data will be put into proper fields. If you want more, please write a few narrative sentences.
Permission is granted for personal use of any of the photos I have added, giving me credit for having provided them. Permission is denied for use of my photos for posting on other websites (for Ancestry.com - please use their linking option instead). Permission is denied for for sale of my photos or for any other use for monetary profit.

|J. Rubio||Ghirardelli's at Cypress Lawn|
I noticed that you entered some of the Ghirardelli's buried at Cypress Lawn. I was wondering if you know where Domingo Ghirardelli Jr., and Addie Cook Ghirardelli's eldest daughter, Alida is buried? She was said to have been born around 1878 and died in 1909. She was an artist and she died at Carmel-by-the-Sea when she drowned. It is a very tragic story and I am writing about it in one of the chapters of my new book. I cannot seem to locate where she is buried, as I wanted to include that in the chapter. If you have any knowledge of where she may be, it would be most appreciated. Thank you!

That's fine, I was just providing you the information via SAC to back up the edits sent and did not request it to be added to a bio.
The method I use to provide where the information comes from and the one I ask on my bio for others to provide me when they send edits is to send it under "other" in the edit tab, which generates an email.
Thank you for processing the links for Jefferson's wife to her parents in RI!
|Catharine MacMillan||RE: Charles L. Weed|
Sarah P. Irish and Charles L. Weed, I've found, are second cousins. Her father, Joseph Eastman Irish 1802, and his father, Rial N. Weed 1800, were first cousins both born in Aurelius, Cayuga Co. NY. Sarah's grandfather is David Irish and Charles's paternal grandmother is David's sister Elizabeth, both children of Benjamin Irish and Elizabeth West.
Both Joseph Eastman Irish and Rial N Weed lived in western NY, neighboring counties in 1830 and 1840, and both families moved to Darien / Delavan, WI prior to 1850. It is very likely that Charles and Sarah had known each other for some time.
I've not be able to find anything at all about Sarah P. Bradley. She may not even have existed. The Ancestry listings do not give a birth date for her, except one that could be determined from the 1880 census. There is no further information given about her except that she married Charles Weed ... information from the casual relationship definition, and I believe erroneous, also from the 1880 census.
In the 1900 census, J R Bradway, I believe correctly, has no official relationship with the head of household, Charles Weed. He is Weed's wife's brother-in-law, a widower, living/rooming/boarding with them.

Hi, your profile of Grover C. Fitch is a duplicate of my file Grover Cleveland Fitch, my grandfather. Can you delete your file since mine is more complete?

Thank you so very much for your kindness in transferring management of the Anton Dissmeyer memorial. You are doing a wonderful work.
|Catharine MacMillan||RE: Charles L. Weed|
Several Irish family descendants have family records of three Irish sisters moving to CA from Walworth Co. WI. Sarah P Irish is noted as marrying Charles Leander Weed. According to a biographer of Charles Leander Weed his wife Sarah's death certificate Alameda County 16-0339 24, says Sarah was b. 30 Mar 1833. That is Sarah P Irish's birthdate. That, plus the fact that J R Broadway is listed as a roomer when he is a widower living with the Weeds in 1900, rather than as someone related to them, makes me believe his wife was Sarah Irish, but I can't find a marriage record, so I can't be positive.
