I only link to BURIAL UNKNOWN MEMORIALS in very limited circumstances. This is Find-a-GRAVE, not a site for building your family tree (try Ancestry.com or Rootsweb.com for that).|
I've been into family history since the 1960's. I'm grateful that I started when I did as so much family information gets lost because we don't ask questions early on.
Find a Grave is a great site and powerful resource. Thanks to all who work so hard to fulfill its primary purpose - documenting known burials.
I'm paying particular attention to Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma, CA and Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland, CA. I appreciate being able to help fill in for all that information lost in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire.
The site has also provided a couple of wonderful finds regarding my family history --- primarily Nancy Brenneman Gast Rhodes (check her out!). Until I found her on Find a Grave, everyone thought she died in 1852. I'm hoping to be able to provide similar breakthroughs for others.
I'm happy to make changes and links for well documented information.

Hey Larry thanks so much for getting back to me! I will be sure to update you when/if we figure out who is buried under that stone. I have a cousin in Sacramento who can go out to the cemetery and locate the stone for the staff and maybe they can come up with something. As always appreciate your diligence!

Aloha Larry! My grandfather disappeared in 1925 without a trace. While I was in Cypress Lawn cemetery this past May looking for the grave of my great-great grandmother I stumbled over a headstone that said simply REIMERS. I have been trying to work with the cemetery to find out who is buried under that stone but they don't have information. Just grasping at straws at this point. Any help would be appreciated...Bonnie Jean Blackmore

Thanks for posting the photo of the gravesite. I also agree the year of death as 1907 and I've made the changes. Thanks for taking the time to add the photo and provide information.

Larry thank you so much for your hard work. I would like to correct one thing. For the Bowie/Jinkerson information, James B Bowie's correct middle name is Barrowman. Thank You, Joy Jinkerson (James Bowie's granddaughter)
|Shirley Knapp||why declined?|
When I look at a grave on findagrave I like to see under ‘marker transcription' a transcription of all text that is actually inscribed on the grave – literally. On more than one occasion I have transcribed the data, submitted it, and was ‘declined' because the grave is already ‘up to date' – even though there is no data under marker transcription. Why is it considered ‘up to date' when the data has not been transcribed?
In my most recent case case it is hard for some people to 'read' the photo and relevant for a genealogist to see that the daughter is listed after her father but before rather than after her mother on the stone. So why decline when I have gone to the effort to transcribe the stone?
|Norman B. Kramm||Thank You|
Just wanted to say Thank You for the quick turn around on my email and for the transfers.

After re-reading your profile I realize that you take pictures and document memorials to help us all understand from where we came. In further reading the guidelines of the "Find A Grave" site, since I'm within the 4th generation guideline, I would ask that you transfer maintenance of the individual memorials you added in May of this year, who are buried in the Kramm Plot in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland California to me. Those individuals and their memorial numbers are:
Annette Hanson Kramm 129337047
Audrey Rue Brown Kramm 129338722
Augusta Kramm 129337779
Charles Kramm 129337742
Joseph W Kramm 129337001
Joseph W Kramm Jr 129338669
Joseph W Kramm III 129338803
Willie Kramm 129338914
I have information that I can add to each of their memorials.
If you look under the Kramm name you will see that I've recently added several other Kramm Memorials, who are buried in the Kramm Plot, for which there are no grave markers.
Thanks for your work!
