Mayflower Connection: I descend from the following |
Degory Priest, Francis Eaton, John Alden,Priscilla Mullins, Myles Standish, Peter Brown, Francis Cooke, George Soule, Isaac Allerton, Richard Warren, through my father, Member 27436, Society of Mayflower Descendants.
My uncle, Carl Glee Smith Jr is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines. His life was lost during Typhoon Cobra, December 18, 1944 when three ships went down, USS Hull, USS Monaghan and his ship the USS Spence. I have attempted to leave notes at each of the memorials for the 793 sailors who lost their lives that day. I also see many other memorials that no one has left flowers or honored them, I am also honoring those as I have time. There are over 44,033 memorials at that cemetery. May God bless the thousands of families who suffered loss during WW II.
I am attempting to link many of Smith burials in an effort to help those who are just starting their family search venture. Descending from four Smith branches is a challenge. At the present time, I am linking Smiths from several states from Vermont, New York,Ohio to Illinois, Nebraska and Kansas. From Virginia through Kentucky to Arkansas. From Georgia, Arkansas to Texas.
In addition, I am documenting my Jones from New Hampshire, through Ohio, Illinois to Nebraska.
A few of my family lines are Blatherwick, Farrow, Gilbert, Wood, Kelsey, Evans, Blake, Cady, Watkins, Stewart, McCormick, Jones, Stiles, McDermott, Hoffman, Smith, Black, Brazle, Roth, Martin, Cole, Morgan, Oswalt
If you use my personal photos, please give me credit for the photo, this includes family photos posted as well as cemetery photos. Thank you.
I will consifer transferring memorials that are your direct family, but not my family line. I am not into numbers and am happy to share my work. I love to link family members and to know a bit about the person.

Hi, you state in your bio that you are tracing a Smith's through Vermont. I have a Smith line through Vermont as well. Mine are through Bethel, Windsor Co., Vermont. I would be interested to learn where yours are from.
On another note, would it be possible to transfer Moses Culver Doig to me? He is my 4x grandfather. Thank you in advance!

I was on Find A Grave and saw you entry for Ella Boling (Pack). I believe she was married to John W Boling who is my GGG Grandfather. He wed Ella Pack and he is buried in the Pack Cemetery on top Bolin Ridge in West Liberty Kentucky. I don't know why his last name has a g on the end of it, but his war record show this as his name as well as his tombstone has John W Boling on it. Also, I found a record where Ella applied for widow benefits after John passed in 1928. She uses the name Ella Boling. None of their children so far as I can tell went by Boling. It appears that they all went by Bolin. I wanted to ask you about the cemetery you mentioned in your entry for Ella. Could you tell me where this cemetery is in West Liberty? I would like to visit it if possible when I come to Kentucky. I usually come down a couple of times a year from Ohio.

|Richard S. Clark||Edmond Stone # 95768199|
The email links on Find A Grave aren't working right now, so will try sending a message in this manner. I know that Edmond Stone # 95768199 was listed as living in the 1910 census, but he was not. You note that on his memorial, and have him listed as dying in 1911. Actually, he died on 21 March 1909 in Monmouth hospital, the day after the 3M (Monmouth Mining & Manufacturing) plant's roof collapsed on him. His obit, death record, sexton record, headstone, wife's obit, etc., all show he died in 1909. His mother was Rebecca America (Swain) Stone, and father was Thomas A. Stone, and he was a nephew of Alexander Hamilton Swain, owner/editor of the Monmouth "Review" newspaper (1855 to 1886).

As I went back to the family plot, I see you still have the pages for my other aunts and uncles although some one has added pictures. Could you please transfer Halma's, Helen's, Hugh's and Harriet's pages to me?
|Nancy Raimondi||transfer request|
I would like a transfer of my grandmother's page so I can add to it with pictures etc. She is in Monmouth cemetery (IL) and her page is #96303261. There is a whole family plot there and I have had the other family members transferred to me. Thank you so much.

Good evening, I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "Old Soldier that had ties to Vermont. Herman E. Kelsey is one such soldier.I am asking if I may use the photo you contributed to his Find A Grave Memorial, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org) You would receive credit for this,
Thank you for your consideration.
|Lily Virdell||John Ginger memorial#6777164|
Dear Vickye, I have done the math several times and if John Ginger memorial#6777164 died Nov. 1, 1879 aged 81 yrs, 10 months and 6 days (as is reported on his tombstone inscription) his birthdate would be Dec. 27, 1797. Not Dec. 26, 1789 as it currently states on his memorial. I have sent an edit to correct this. This brings his birthdate much closer to the probability that he is the son of Henry Ginger Sr. memorial#15618446 and Chauncey Jane (Luster) Ginger memorial#124205757
What do you think about this? You are probably much more knowledgeable about the Gingers of Indiana than I am. If you agree, please let me know and I will sent edits linking them.
Thanks, as always for all you do. Gratefully,Lily
