Bio and Links
Bio Photo I don't do genealogy myself, but I do have a great sense of the importance of history.

One of my big hobbies is photography and I often drive around the countryside looking for that one great shot. Cemeteries are full of beautiful pictures and the exercise is great. Can't wait to investigate the ones around here, and now with even more of a purpose!

It's not my intent to add Memorials, but if I do and you want to manage it, just let me know.

After having been here and watching the community for a few months I want to add that I consider this to be a joint project where our goal is to create a historical document.

I heard a story from a person who works at a company that manages two large cemeteries in the area. She had found findagrave and had decided to help out by creating memorials and uploading pictures and obituaries as people were interred in her cemeteries.

She probably hadn't completely read the rules but she was honestly trying to help. Of course she occasionally created duplicate memorials and the emails she received because of that were so nasty that she decided to quit trying.

So, because some people have forgotten that we are trying to create a shared project, not just gather as many memorials as possible for ourselves, this community lost a valuable resource. Luckily for me she's still a nice person who just wants to help and has so far been willing to help me with finding graves in her two cemeteries, but the larger community lost something important because of the attitudes of a few. That makes me sad.

RE: Prospect Hill Cemetery
Family Tree Climber, Sherry, my husband and I were out there Saturday morning and took pix of everyone buried in there. Hubby and I went back today for some retakes, but some more were sent to me after we left so Family Tree Climber will probably do the remaining retakes.

Thank you so much for fulfilling the Westfall photo requests. I truly do appreciate it. Four of us just completed taking pictures of the Old Mausoleum at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Carlisle. My husband and I will be doing some retakes this morning.
