Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an avid searcher. I have enjoyed many walks through cemeteries with my camera in hand. Now I need oxygen 24/7 which makes travel a little more difficult. I do take binoculars with me to cemeteries that I visit. I am so thankful for my husband who assists me whenever I travel. He makes cemetery visits possible for me.

Please do not add Death Certificates to the memorials I have placed on Find A Grave. Thank you in advance.

When you find errors, please e-mail me. I will do my best to correct them.

Yikes! I forgot the most important one of all... Mary and Elijah's son, my grandfather, William Isaac Floyd. I have a certified copy of his Birth Certificate. It shows his parents as: Mary Long Pearson and Elijah Thomas Floyd. Thanks! Margie

RE: Mary Floyd # 25599216
Hello! Are we family? How nice if so! I live about 45 minutes from where Mary and Elijah Thomas lived in Bedford County. Most of our ancestors are there. Mary Long Pearson is the daughter of John Enoch Pearson and Jane Newsom of Bedford County, TN. She was born in Bedford County, TN.

She married Elijah Thomas Floyd and had five girls and three boys. One of them, my great grandfather, whom I knew, William Isaac Floyd, married Inez Cunningham the daughter of Harrison Macon Cunningham and Sarah Margaret "Maggie Floyd in Tupelo, AL, where he worked managing a lumber mill. They had three children, including my grandmother, who was named after her grandmother, Mary Long Pearson Floyd, which she knew in her lifetime as well. My grandmother's name was Margaret Long Floyd. My grandmother was 28 when Mary Long died, and my mother, Anne, was five and knew her also.

Our records come from our family letters to one another in Mary's generation by siblings and children, and from our Bible records. The Bedford County archivists, Tim and Helen C. Marsh, also show Mary as Mary Long Pearson in their records and publishing books (over 75), mostly on Bedford County.

I hope this helps! If you are not family, and don't mind, I would love to manage this memorial, with your permission, and add a photo of Mary and a biography. I have a large amount of letters and documents and photos of the Pearsons and Floyds, as well as Cunningham and Cards. I was just at John Enoch's and Mary's graves this spring. Other Pearsons and Floyds are buried there as well. At Smith Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Tullahoma, Moore County, TN. Of course, a good many Pearsons and Floyds are buried on what used to be their land, in woods and fields, now. Those are fun to visit and clean, only watch for ticks! If family, let me know how we are related! How nice! Thanks, Margie

RE: Wm. Buddy Elliot 132814252
Hi,
Yes, there is a sign in front that says" Farris Chapel Community Cemetery". When I went to enter the people I took photos of there, I almost created a new cemetery. Than I saw Hanley Cemetery and the map attached to Hanley showed that Hanley was the same location. So I thought that Hanley was an alternate name. I have found some of these little cemeteries don't have formal names and are sometimes called by several names. I did take a photo of the sign, I will send it to you. The sign was kinda beat up looking and I was not sure if I should try to put it on the cemetery page. Maybe your photo is better.
I have found a number of people in the wrong cemeteries in Farris Chapel. I photographed all of Farris Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery and Green Cemetery. I found quite a few people entered at the church, that are at Green and Farris Chapel Community. I think when people are entered using info off of death certificates they don't always get the correct cemetery. I have found a lot of death certificates have Farris Chapel as place of burial. Meaning the Farris Chapel area and not a specific cemetery.
I would be nice to get it corrected.
Stacey

Brooke Caputo
Questions!
Hello! My name is Brooke Caputo and I am a student at Motlow State Community College. I was looking at the website "www.findagrave.com" and they mentioned this was a way I could contact you. My English classmates and I had recently gone to Shofner's Lutheran Churhch Cemetery on September, 4th. Our assignment is to construct a research paper based on the history of the church/people who are buried here. We had taken some pictures of these beautiful, timeless graves, and had to research information on them. I had come across Mabel Stephens Brinkley (Nov. 25th,1901- May 3rd, 2000)'s grave stone, had gone on www.findagrave.com website, and researched some information on it. I also came across her son, Bryce Milton Brinkley (1928-2014), whom I found a little more information on. The whole reason as to why I'm messaging you is to ask for a few minutes of your time to reply back to me with any information you could give me on these two or their family history. I am interested in getting to know a little more information on the history of this family and maybe even the cemetery itself! Any information will help me greatly, also this counts as a 'interview' that would count towards my paper!

Sincerely, Brooke Caputo.
Thank you!
