Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in South Bend IN and raised in Elkhart IN, and moved to southwestern Illinois, near St Louis MO, after a four-year tour with the Air Force when I graduated from high school. I have always been fascinated by cemeteries ever since I was a young child, especially small family cemeteries. In the last 30 years, I have delved into my family genealogy on my father's (Bjornstad) and mother's (Denson) side. My paternal grandfather, Kristian Bjornstad, immigrated from Norway in the early 1900s, eventually settling in eastern North Dakota. His oldest brother had an interest in the Bjornstad genealogy and he compiled the family record into a book and had it published in Oslo Norway in 1943, which traces the family origins to the first king of Norway. I have used it as a reference when submitting memorials for my father's ancestors on Find A Grave. On my mother's side, a distant cousin, Dr. Marion E. Denson of Columbia TN (now deceased) published a genealogy book in 1997 on the Denson families in America, tracing them back to the mid-1600s, when a William Denson came from England and settled in southern Virginia, near the present-day city of Norfolk. This book has been a great source of reference for my Find A Grave memorials pertaining to my Denson ancestors. Additionally, I want to give special thanks to Ronald C. Denson of Birmingham AL (now deceased) who also compiled a genealogy of my Denson ancestors which was very helpful.

I also want to give special thanks to my wife, Angela Bjornstad, for her help in formatting the photos that I have posted to Find A Grave.

I am acceptable to transferring memorials on Find A Grave to anyone who requests them and who is a direct descendant of the person whose memorial I have posted. If I have incorrectly stated any information for any memorial that I have posted, please contact me through the Find A Grave message board and I will gladly make the necessary correction(s). Also, I do not object if anyone posts pictures to any memorials that I created and still manage.

I do not have the ability to instantly make any changes or corrections to the Famous memorials that I have posted. Only the Find A Grave administrators can do that. If you should find an error on any Famous memorial that is credited to me, please contact famous@findagrave.com and provide them with the required changes/corrections.

RE: THOMAS PICKINS WOODARD - Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery
Thanks for checking. I'm sure I would never have remembered to ask Wayne. Seems like the only time I ever see them anymore is at a funeral!

Yes, that would be me. I think I remember you too, but I got married in 1985 and moved really far away to the metropolis of Nesmith...well Pisgah, actually. I noticed you've taken a few picture of that cemetery too.

THOMAS PICKINS WOODARD - Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery
Hi, Bill. I was curious if you know whether this Thomas Pickins Woodard used to be called "Pick". I was born in 1960 and he died in 1964, but I have fond memories of a little old man my family called Pick Woodard. He lived at the end of the road on past my Grandma and Grandpa James on down past Liberty Church and he would walk out to their house almost every night.

RE: William Welsh Prather
Hi William,

Thank you for your response. I think there will be a tombstone since he was so popular. His obits were long and detailed with lots of nice comments.

Hope you will have a photo soon,

William Welsh Prather
My husband is a direct descendant of Rev Prather. I am trying to complete an application for him to join the Sons of the American Revolution. Do you have a photo of William Prather's tombstone? The photo on Find A Grave is the sign for the Union Cemetery and I cannot read what it says.
Thank you for your help,

Karen Reynard Prather

EXCELLENT job on the rewrite. Dr. Freeman, of course, lived in Richmond, as do I. I certainly never knew him but I've known people who did and he was by all accounts a fine gentleman. As a historian, he remains the gold standard. I think it took me about 2 months to read his four volumes on General Lee, which in my opinion is the greatest biography in the English language.

Thank you for honoring him.

Blessings,

Bob

RE: Merry Christmas
A few months ago I noticed you had added a picture of Ronald Denson's gravestone. Thanks for making the photo. I am now working on linking the Cleghorn kin up by parents, wife, and children. Some people who added grave records aren't taking messages which makes it difficult to request transfers. If I can I get a transfer then I can edit them as I can without having to backtrack and see who performed the requested links. I got burned by My Heritage when I put up my family tree there. When they started they allowed 800 people in the tree without having to be a paying member. Now they have reduced it to 200. I can still edit the ones I have but can't add new members to my tree. I am thinking about putting up my tree on Wiki as another family genealogist has done and says that they will be there when you are gone and it is free and will remain so. You can add references for your data and can add stories or comments about them. Another cousin told me that the Wiki site is hard to learn but is worth it for the peace of mind that the site won't turn on you and use you and your information to make money off from it. I have been told that Ancestry.com started as a free site and then when they got a lot of information they changed and became a paying member site. Hop you are blessed with good health. That is something we can never take for granted. The older we get the more likely we are to have health problems. God Bless you and your family
