I added the note about the grave being unmarked. I also added a short death notice I found. If this is your family and you would like to manage the memorial, just let me know. Thanks, Deb

On the three DeWitts, your edit shows Susan as the mother. She'd be 27 years younger than her husband. That could be, but the father's spouse is listed as Susannah DeWitt, not Susan. Maybe you meant Susannah (wife of Josiah). On James, he was born in 1880. I find it unlikely that his father was born in 1806 (Josiah). I'd need some documentation showing he had a son at the age of 74. You can email me with sources and I'll add it.

I have deleted memorial# 51596783 and have sent a suggestion to the NY memorial owner.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your info on the DeWitt family.
I am descended from a DeWitt also, although I do not believe we are connected at all.......
mine is JOHN MAJOR DE WITT f.a.g. #63483929.
Keep up the good work you are doing, it will benefit someone...someday, and meanwhile it is theraputic for those of us still searching.

I just talked with, Anita (Jefferson) Tanner, an 85 year old grand daughter of James T. Jefferson. I learned the following:
James T. was raised as a youth in the home of a Mr. & Mrs. Hall in Linn County.
Anita believes that James T's father came from Kentucky after the Civil War.
James T. was employed by the railroad. His wife brought him lunch each day and climbed a lot of steps to deliver his meal.
James T's older brother is findagrave memorial #136024205.
Another grand daughter of James T. Jefferson, Jeannie (Jefferson) Baker believes Benjamin Jefferson is the name of her great grand father.
Thank you for your contributions.

I've removed the toes from the photo and cropped/rotated it. It looks better now.
