After retiring, I took over my father's work on my family tree and it led to photographing headstones of my family in Iowa. So I thought, why not help others who live farther away? Plus, I find cemeteries so interesting and peaceful. There's no better feeling being outdoors on a nice day!

Please feel free to use any of my photos.

Hi Gail,

Wondering if Irene was married to a man named John Stripe who was an auctioneer.

Thanks in advance for your response.

William Davenport
Gail I think you have entered the wrong photo to William Davenport Sr memorial - It is actually for his son.

Sharon McMillen
Two McMillens buried in Linn Co., Iowa
You've taken photos and entered information about Clement V. McMillen and his wife Mary Sinclair McMillen. Family records show that they have sons John M. McMillen and William C. McMillen who are supposed to be buried in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. I would assume they are in the Mt Vernon Cemetery since that's where their parents are buried. The records say John died in 1874 and William died in 1865. If you come across their headstones it would be much appreciated if you would let me know!

Thanks for all the work you are doing to share this important family history information!

Sorry, but I have one more bit of information. His obituary states that his body was cremated and no cemetery mentioned. I know that does not mean that his cremains were not buried later. Just a note.
