While I have always enjoyed wandering through old cemeteries, it wasn't until my daughter wanted to join the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) - thanks to the Gilmore Girls - that I started seriously researching my genealogy. As a 9th generation descendant of Philip Bossard, one of the first European settlers in northeast Pennsylvania, I have found that my roots go back to the earliest Dutch and German settlers in the New World colonies of New Amsterdam (New York), New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

I live in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and am always ready and willing to track down photos in the northern Valley (Strasburg to Winchester) and in the panhandle of West Virginia (Jefferson and Berkeley Counties).

James Clark of Maine
Additional information for your posting: Mrs. Clark (his second wife) was born the same year as James. They both were 47 when they married.

If you are in touch with any Clark descendants could you please forward this information to them? I would like to know more of James Clark's life after he immigrated from Scotland and settled in Maine. His years in Illinois and (?) Pennsylvania are of interest, as well.

Leigh Hanes 134297099
Hi Stephen,

I was very excited to find the memorial for Leigh Hanes that your created. This is my Great-grandfather's brother. I was wondering if you posted all the pictures you took in this cemetery? I am definitely still looking for Leigh's brothers and parents.

Just wondering.

Jabez Besse, Sr. FAG Mem #84554239
Steve, First--Thanks so much for the transfer of the Horatio and Charlotte Harrington memorials to me! Second, and I know this is a reach, do you recall if your photo posted for Jabez Besse (my 5th great grandfather) is of his actual stone, or just the general area of his stone? I'd like to post a request for a photo of his stone, but don't want to send someone off on a wild goose chase if it isn't there. Thanks for the help--and if I can ever return the favor, don't hesitate to contact me!! Kathy
