Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in West Frankfort, Il. My father and mother are Fred & Mildred (Southerland) Harkins. My family came from Alabama, Kentucky & North Carolina. My husband's family came from Tennessee & North Carolina. I have been told that my ancestors from both mine and my husband's line originate in Ireland. I've yet to travel across the ocean on this internet or by any other means to substantiate it. I am getting close though!

I am researching, Harkins, Green, Galloway, Misskelly, Crowell, Southerland, Sullivan, Newcomb, McDaniel, Guthrie, McClintock, Ice, Fleming, Martin, Willhite, Nolen, Carr, Yates, & Davis, to name a few. Any information or help on these surnames is most welcomed and I will be sure to do you the favor in kind.

I am sure this FAG website is going to become a really fantastic site, especially if everyone takes care when adding information concerning each soul that is memorialized. I am proud to be a part of this website and able to help people locate their loved ones and learn all about them.

If you want to use my photo's, you are welcome to do so, but I would like recognition for them, please. If you don't agree with my findings and have documentation to prove I am wrong, please by all means feel free to let me know by email or leave me a message. If I make any mistakes, please let me know, too. I try not to make any but we all fall short of this! Now enjoy!

Thank you for the additional information. Her nickname has been added along with her parents information. I have also included a credit link to your bio page.

Needless to say, I seem to spend a lot of time on Find A Grave but I love the stories about people that found where there ancestors were buried because of one of my memorials. I didn't plan on having so many memorials, it just happened because I found so many that needed to be on Find A Grave.

Thank you for all of your contributions to Find A Grave.

Let me see what I can find for you. I have been told that a local funeral home may have access to the cemetery records. I will check with them and see if I can find out where they are in the cemetery and get a photo for you and a precise location if you want to visit the graves.

It may not be right away, but I'll try to do something on this and get back to you.

I will do my best to obtain photos of the Carter tombstones, but it may not be easy. The cemetery has been in financial trouble for some years and the office is not open. Right now, there is nobody that I'm aware of that has access to the records.

I have been working my way through the sections of the cemetery photographing graves and entering them into Find A Grave. Another volunteer is doing the same from the other end of the cemetery. I will pass your message on to her and we'll see if we can't find the Carter markers. Have you ever been to their graves? If you know the section or at least whether it was by the entrance, way in the back or near some landmark, it would help.

Let me know and I will try to do my best.
