Bio and Links
Bio Photo Wife and stay at home mom to four beautiful girls. One in heaven due to premature birth. glad that we can find our loved ones graves on here. I have learned a lot this past year researching my family roots. The most surpring is that the majority of the family started out in New England then moved down South little by little. So whomever stated that the civil war was brother against brother was correct. Also this whole world is smaller than we think it is and we would be wise to realize that. Ancestral homes include the entire United Kingdom. Many, many of my people come from this area. Much of New England, all the way down South on the Eastern seaboard. Other states include TX,AK,TN, and MO. Lots of my people from the mountains of North Georgia. Another thing I have learned is that family names are spelled many different ways on records of all types

Hi Kristy,

You added a portrait photo to Sarah's memorial. Is this a painting of her? She is my 5th great grandmother. Thank you

Adolphus (Doffie) Jones was working in the fields one day during the start of the Civil War. He had refused to take sides and confederate soldiers or raiders took him and killed him. Some said he was killed in his barn near Ellijay, Gilmer County GA around Boardtown Road and Salem Baptist Church

People have Agnes Tankersley confused with Thomas's wife Agnes. Agnes Tankersley was the daughter of Thomas and Agnes Green's son Joseph Green and he had a daughter Agnes Green who married William Tankersley my great Grandparents. E-mail me and we can discuss this further.

RE: Rachel Monroe Pettit
I checked the Monroe and the father they list is too young to be Rachel's father.

Hello, Kristy. First, thank you for your great efforts to help all of us researching our ancestors. Next, I need to raise an issue with the photo that you posted of Samuel Woods and son: this type of photography did not exist during their lifetimes. And the younger man appears to be dressed in 1930s to 1950s clothing. Since there are several generations of Samuel Woods and Oliver Woods, I believe the two men pictured are descendants of one or both of the men in these cemeteries. I hope you can find the right memorial to place the photo on. -- Sincerely, Patricia Craig, 4th G-Gdaughter of Samuel Woods.

James McClure
Kristy,

I'm trying to find additional info on James McClure, your memorial #133804903, Holly Springs BC Cemetery, Macon, NC.

Do you remember where you found the info on his birth and death dates & places. Also, how did you locate his burial place?

I'm working on my DAR application and this info would help with my documentation thru the Strain family line.

Thank you very much,

Vicki
