Thank you very much for the photo of the public plot for my two relatives. I especially am grateful for your helpful explanation of public plots and the link to the cemetery.

I have several relatives that were buried in the 1800's and early 1900's in New York City and know nearly nothing about burial customs or cemeteries of the time. My relatives would not have been well off and locating their burial spots has been a challenge.

Can you tell me if the State of New York and/or the City of New York will allow searches of their records? I will be in NY and NJ doing research in August and don't want to waste what time I have there. Many states have banned the practice citing privacy issues, even for OLD burials. Thank you again.
