Bio and Links
Bio Photo I stumbled across this site over ten years ago, made a few entries, and wandered off. I returned after three years and realized it was a wonderful opportunity to do something meaningful, for both the dead and the living.

I am currently working on recording cemeteries in my home area, as well as those in Blair Co, Pa., my area of interest. My particular passion is recording stones that are 'trying hard to soon become unreadable'.

I am always thrilled when I can take an almost unreadable or broken tombstone, and, with a little research, successfully identify the person. Some have taken me years, but the harder the chase, the more satisfying the victory, especially knowing that someone out there may be searching for that elusive ancestor or relative...

I try to put as much application into stranger's graves as I would those of my own family, as I consider this a labor of love.

If anyone is helped by my efforts and wants to say thank-you, considering leaving a flower for my sponsored memorials. All tokens are appreciated.

I am a "no-dispositions-unknown" contributor.

......................................

Please note - I try to act on SACs within 72 hours. If I do not respond within a week, feel free to resend; I may have missed it. I will not make links, however, to burial unknowns.

In the past I have been very liberal with transfers, including many out-of-guidelines transfers. I loved turning memorials over to family.

Sadly however, having been 'burned' a number of times recently, I am rethinking that policy. Most of the memorials I have happily transferred over have had not one iota of additional information added by the transferee, aside from links, often times to 'burial unknowns.' When things ARE added, they are frequently cut and paste entries from Ancestry or FamilySearch indices, making the memorial unattractive and about about as personable as a baseball score card. Often too, the transferees get bored and wander away from the site, abandoning their memorials and when I find new info to add they never reply.

If you request an out-of-guidelines transfer, I will review your current memorials to see if you are good stewards of them, and base my decision on that. I am very happy to add additional information to 'flesh-out' existing memorials, and if you work with me on that I may later reconsider a transfer that I did not initially grant.

Wilbur and Nellie Thorn
Hi Zella, I transferred Wilbur and Nellie's memorials to you because I am in no way connected to them. I'm so glad you found them! I know you'll take care of their memorials! :)

Guidelines,
So, instead of handing over management to a direct descendant who goes through everything with fine tooth comb.

Quote from you,
In the past I have been very liberal with transfers, including many out-of-guidelines transfers. I loved turning memorials over to family.

You have 10 of my family line Botzum's all of them in a direct line, including great grand parents, siblings, and everything,. It might take sometime for me to do this, But, I do it,, For one, I am in the 4th stage of MS, and all I do is genealogy. I speak to the Winklemans, who is the great granddaughter John George, and they have the Botzum farm still, But you don't want to give your work as far as because someone burnt you. I feel like I have been burnt by you as they are not even remotely your kin, they are my blood no matter how far back.. You would still have your name on the page as a creater, It is a lot of work for the 98 Botzums clan that i do have is to send it to you so you can do it yourself,,, You and AuntieJ, have both forgotten what this page/site is about connecting families of the past to the present. I have been doing this since 1990-1991 till now,, You and Auntie J are the only ones who have denied my request for a transfer. But, luckily there are some people who do this as a act of kindness and gladly share the site with me... with or with out guidelines. They are just happy and thrilled that they could help people connect and learn about their family no matter how far back they go. Your actions and supposed guidelines are very hurtful. I am so sorry I even asked you...

RE: Leah Rooney
Zella, Thanks for striving to assure the accuracy of the info on your memorials. Regarding the birth date I suggested for Leah Rooney's memorial, I used her age at death (yr/mo/da) from your memorial and "plugged" those variables into the web-based OCV Genealogy birth date calculator [link below] that calculates her birth date to be 2 Nov 1822. I then apparently erred in sending you a different birth date: the 12th vs the "correct SECOND" of November in 1822. Please change. Many thanks for your continuing support in my quest to document my central Pennsylvania kin. Dick

Malinda Jolley
Hi Zella
I saw that you are the one who submitted a photo of the headstone for Malinda Jolley. I currently live in AZ but am from PA. Malinda was my great, great great grandmother.
I was wondering if you have any other information on Malinda? My sister visited the Geeseytown Cemetery over the weekend and could not find the headstone. Do you know if it is located in the upper portion of the cemetery or the lower portion below the main road?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Also any information on her father, John S Larison, who is also buried in the Geeseytown Cemetery.
Thank you

William John Edmunds
I Zella,

My g uncle William John Edmunds mother was Mary Ann Edmunds and not Anna.

In Welsh if her name was Anne, I am not sure whether it would be pronounced Anna or not.

However, my grandfather said her name was Mary Ann.

Thanks,

Tim
