RE: Reuben Hickman Dowell
I am sorry for the very late response. The Reuben Hickman Dowell listed here was living in Iowa in the 1850s, 1860s and 1870s according to the U.S. Census Bureau. His family moved to Clay Center, Kansas in approximately 1881. I don't think he is the same Reuben Dowell you are looking for.

RE: Oscar Crane, Slater, Missouri
Thank you Ed. Sometimes things surprise you. I think Jason Weiker, the current undertaker, has the Hill Brothers records. Some of them the ink is starting to fade. I will try to check out what survivor and burial info they recorded and keep you in the loop. I had originally thought Oscar would be buried in the same family plot. Son Joseph died first, and he is in the middle. Sophie is to his south, and I thought the unmarked, maybe empty, on to the north was Oscar. The records indicate that Oscar is buried around the Walter Abrm Crane plots. There is a space, or unmarked grave there as well. (then to the east, starting on the south is three graves with Lowell (Jack), Nettie and Blanch. Blanch is Oscar and Sophie's daughter, and Jack is her son)

Again I really appreciate your work and efforts with Find A Grave.

Have a Great Day!

Oscar Crane, Slater, Missouri
I was wondering about the source for the place of death of Oscar Crane, (Slater, Missouri City Cemetery) as Buchanan County, Missouri. If this is the correct person, born in Ohio, in 1846-1847, then he is my 2nd Great-Grandfather. The grave is unmarked, and according to records is located next to another Crane family.

I was wondering if you have obituary or just death certificate.

Thank you for what you do. I am trying to give back to Find A Grave for all of the great info I have gotten here.

Richard Murrell #59684556
Can you tell me more about Richard Murrell than is on his memorial? Was he trained to be a preacher? Who were his parents? I have his wife as Mary Ann Mabry, b. 1753 in Greenville, Augusta County, Virginia, and married Richard Apr 1778 in Tennessee. Any more information on him could be helpful, but I really want to know who his parents were.

Sincerely,
Sylvia M. Hertel

RE: Reuben Hickman Dowell
Hi Ed,

I am sorry for the late response. I don't believe this Reuben Hickman Dowell was in the Civil War in Missouri. All the census records I have seen for the family have them living in Iowa from 1850 to 1880. They moved to Kansas in the late 1880s. I hope this helps.
