I was born in Vaiden, MS, on Dec. 31, 1954 to Alf Trotter Collins and Juanita Hambrick Collins.|
I lived in Vaiden, MS until 1979, Winona, MS until 1981, when I moved to Jackson, MS. In 1990, I moved to Florence, MS, where I still reside.
I have two wonderful sons, Sean and Cody, and I worked as a Level 2 Computer Field Technician for AmSouth Bank, In-House Technician for Trustmark Bank and Field Technician for CompuCom servicing 10 Lowe's stores in Mississippi.
I have an A.A. Degree in Pre-Law; a B.S. Degree in History with a Minor in English; and a Master of Social Sciences with an emphasis in History.
I have written and maintain 240+ web pages, including listings of the burials in the Vaiden Mississippi Cemetery (White) and the Vaiden Community Cemetery (African-American).
So far, my family history has been traced back to my 14th Generation Grandfather, John Collins I, who was the keeper of the Gael (prison) for King Charles I of England (son of James I - of the King James Bible fame). Other relatives include another King (Elvis).
Other hobbies include motorcycles, making music as a drummer, historical research, adding entries to Find-a-Grave (since 08/12/2000), and watching and collecting DVDs.

Hi Ron. I received the following notification regarding Rick O'Hair's memorial page:
"Ron Collins, Rick O'Hair was my brother's son, I am his Aunt and a member of Find A Grave (Mcbraun #47620424). On behalf on the O'Hair Family, Tony O'Hair,(his son), Karla O'Hair Richards,(his sister) and myself I am asking if you would be so kind as to remove the 2 'hospital' photos posted. It pains us so much to see those in his last days. Please accept our Thank You in advance.
M.C. O'Hair Braun"

Oh, I've got you. Thought you knew her. Thanks anyway.
|Rex Xavier||RE: Kate Bennett Collins|
Her maiden name is Bennett, married name Collins? I thought you were the one who added her? Or was it someone else, and I am making a mistake?
|Karen Sanders||John M Williams|
Would you please change the birth date to Feb 11, 1900. Thank you.
|Rex Xavier||Kate Bennett Collins|
Do you know if Kate Bennett Collins was married to a W. Lester Bennett? I know that W. Lester was married to a Kate, and his wife and her were born in the same year, and they lived at the same place. But you said that this Kate married a Collins. Did she marry twice, or are they two separate people? Thank you!
|Betty Porter||Charles Allen Hudson|
First, I want to thank you for all the work you have contributed to genealogists through your work for Find A Grave. I can tell that you make a great effort to provide accurate and helpful information. I noticed in the entry for Charles Allen Hudson that you listed his father as Benjamin D Hudson. These Hudsons are part of my direct line and we have Charles's father as Elijah J Hudson. Charles was born in 1861 and his father died in 1866 so I think that may be where the confusion arose. The obituary for Charles listed his father as Benjamin D. We are relying on the 1870 census and Elijah's wife's pension for our identification of Elijah being the father of Charles. I don't have definitive proof (like the 1860 census) so if you don't want to add Elijah as the possible father, that is fine. If possible could you add this note to your file and pass along this information to anyone who contacts you about this family. Again, thanks so much for all your work.
|Donna Hart||Thank you|

You are so very welcome. I was happy to help!
|marie||MS death certificate|
Sorry I missed you Monday if you were at the MDAH. I learned that they have death certificates from 1912 - 1942 and an easy process for finding what I needed. Don't have to pay MS Vital Records.
