--several years ago I heard someone say, "...when someone we love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure..." As I try to wrap my heart around the loss of my sweet mother (June K, -- aka: "June-Bug"!) this week, these words are painfully true...as I count the many "treasures" I have of her and my Dad, Clifford K. (who went home a few years ago)...some as recent as a couple weeks ago when my husband I were so blessed to travel across the country to visit her, knowing in our hearts, it would probably be our last visit...my sweet mother walking down a hallway to give me a hug, with the biggest smile ever, and a twinkle in her eyes is a memory I will always treasure...although my mother battled ALZ. the last three years of her life, she never lost her sweet spirit and sense of humor...and though our hearts are heavy, I know for certain, my mother truly "went home for Christmas" this year...all prayers for our family are appreciated, Karen K. & Family

Sorry I just realized I had a message. My father is Mike Karns and his dad was Harry V Karns and his father was Vern H Karns. I'm not sure, but generally the spelling Karns isn't too common.

Great news... I was able to locate the headstone for your parents and added the photo to your mom's but Cliff has too many photos already on his memorial and Find A Grave won't allow me to add anymore unless someone sponsors his memorial.
We have a lot of snow on the ground right now so the headstone is a bit wet and snowy.
Have a great week.

I would be happy to do that for you.... however, we are under a lot of snow and ice right now. If the weather breaks and the snow melts I will go up to the cemetery and do that for you. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving weekend!
Hi again. I know Greendale Cem very well and knew approximately where the graves would be as several of my relatives are buried very close to your parents. I saw the new grave with flowers and saw your mom's marker from the funeral home. Its a white plaque with her picture, name and a prayer on it. Its next to your father's grave, which only has a war plaque. I posted a photo of the war plaque on your dad's memorial here at F.A.G. and took a close up photo of your mom's plaque from the funeral home and also some shots of them both. I know this would be terribly hard for me so I wanted to ask you first before I posted any of those. I can send them to you via email and not post here but that is entirely up to you. I can also go back in the spring/summer when the grass is growing and maybe there will be a tombstone? I live pretty close to Greendale so its not a problem for me to zip over for you.......Many HUGS!
Hi Karen, I went to Greendale today to fulfill your photo request. There is no memorial stone for your father, only a war plaque. There was a plaque for your mom that came from the funeral home and there are still flowers on her grave. If you want, I can post the photo of both graves but your mom's grave is still a fresh grave. Please let me know. In the meantime, I will post the war plaque.
